Been a real test for us these last couple of weeks that has really demonstrated the difference between Y3 and Y2. Wheatley Hills are strong, well drilled and never gave up, from a 17 point lead we showed a bit of naivety not to play in the right areas and see the game out. Happy to get our first win on the board though. Some good wins on there for Baildon, Corinthians and Ripon as well.

Tight game at Ribb, with the bigger Wath forwards in control in the first half and 13 - 3 up at the interval. Their cause was not helped by experienced scrum half Bartlett going off injured. The last 20 the big lads ran out of steam a bit and our young lads sprayed it about and we scored from a gap left at the side of a breakdown that would have been well marshalled in the first half. Fitness told in the end. Good game played in the right spirit between two teams that I think will be around about the top four at the seasons end. Hope you Wath boys had a good bus trip home.

Hi
Speaking to a few from Wath in a and e   On Sunday could paint a different picture.
Consensus was - Wath dominated first 15 minute while they had 15 men.
5 injuries took there toll. All 3 subs used in first 25 minutes.
70 minutes gone Wath still in lead . Poor decision from ref as ribb carried ball back over line he awarded goal line drop. Ribb score try with quick drop out.
A long season ahead for ribb on this showing.

Wath at full strength Would have been 30/40 points to the better.

Don't know who your myopic  friend is but. Yes injuries did take their toll but 30-40 points difference!!!
I already conceded that Bartlett was a big loss but overall fitness told in the last quarter. Anyway let's see what the reverse fixture brings in December.
