Bramley Phoenix 20 - 26 Wath Upon Dearne
Harrogate Pythons HWO Barnsley
Leeds Corinthians 23 - 18 Baildon
North Ribblesdale 20 - 14 Wheatley Hills
Northallerton 19 - 27 Wensleydale
Ripon 27 - 26 Yarnbury

Tight games all round today. Be good to get some feedback and reports. Looks a very open league this year.

Ribb prevailed in a tight game yesterday. We started like a house on fire racing into a 17 - 0 lead after 25 minutes and should have put the game to bed but missed a couple of chances. Hills slowly got back into the game and a yellow to our fullback gave them a sniff and they got back to 17 - 14 we stirred ourselves got a penalty and then saw the game out to be ,imo, worthy winners. Good game played in good spirit with a decent crowd. Good luck to hills as I suspect their 5 points from the Barnsley walkover will be annulled if Barnsley fold/withdraw from the league which would be very worrying for the game.

One of the Barnsley lads came down to Wath on Saturday, ended up playing for Hemsworth 2nds, who arrived short. From what he said, they had 4 at training and only 7 available to play. Not sure how you come back from that position.
Doesn't seem that long ago that Wath 4ths v Barnsley 4ths was a regular fixture.

From what I read haven't some gone to Sheff? It’s a sad state of affairs really and unless something dramatic happens this is the beginning of the end for a lot of clubs.

Four of last years team were in the Sheffield team that beat Otley last week.
That's quite a step up.

I stand corrected then.
Based it on looking at bothe web sites/team sheets.

Looking again, definitely appears to be 4 played against Otley with 5 + coach in total.
That's quite a hit for any club to take. Interesting that they get straight into the Sheffield 1st team - not judging either way.
Sadly, Barnsley aren't the only Yorkshire club to suffer an exodus to a nearby club.

They're not even subtle about it.

Suppose you are talking about the Bees. Given first four results I think they to do more than approach Y1 And Y2 players.  Will they never learn??
If it's not the "Bees" I apologise to them but can't think of anyone else.
Carl as head coach has got off to a poor start results wise. But  you can only work with what you have got.
As a senior bloke at Ribb I once asked why he thought results were not what we expected ( we didn't expect to be at the top, but didn't expect to be near the drop zone).
His reply was a dismissive  " You can't coach c***".
After that I was more than happy when he went back to Yawno last season and I feel eventually he will be found out at Bees. I hope not as personally he's not a bad bloke.  Let's see.
