Not bad with my predictions this week and results pretty much going with form across the board. A bit of a slippery event in the gloom and rain at Barnsley, where they never sat down or back, apart from in the second half scrums. The try count of 8 to 3 in Ripon's favour doesn't do justice to Barno's spirit. A good platform up front and some exciting stuff in the backs, saw Ripon play more like the way they want to. Wish Barnsley all the best for the rest of the season and hope they can hang on to enough players to stay in contention.
Very kind words LO - I was at the game on Saturday and at half time I must admit there was a glimmer of hope. I believe the game was more or less even with 3 trys each?
You did manage to turn the screw up front in the 2nd half, our replacement prop is a hooker and stepped up so we had cover to compete.
You just had too much for us in the 2nd half and ran away with it in the end, but Barnsley never gave up, which is commendable.
Unfortunately, there is no cavalry on the horizon so the lads that do turn out will give it their all, which right now is the best we can hope for.
