Good Afternoon all.

what's everyone's thoughts on the pitches with tonight's cold weather due?

If clubs are having to travel, it's only fair to call off the games before they set off.

player safety has to come first, teams like Mods are struggling with lots of injuries and for them to get any more for the sake of one game, I'd say that's the priority for everyone, to be safe! Actually, whilst writing this, it looks like MODs have already given the HWO :( Hope they manage to pull through!

That been said,

Aire vs Nestle - Impressive win by Nestle last week, Aire with a close loss. Could be quite a good game, but with the condition of the Aire pitch, I feel this may be postponed. But my prediction would be a close game, but Nestle  +3

Halifax vs Hessle - Fax obv in great form at the moment, but hessle are a decent side, I still feel Halifax will be too strong for them so im going to go Fax by +12

Mos Vs Stocksbridge - If this was at stocks I'd say stocks, will be a forward's battle. I think home advantage +3 Mos

Roth Vs Knaresborough -  tough weekend Just gone for Knares, good to see they are still getting to games regardless of results. Another tough week ahead for them Roth by 30+

York RI Vs OO - OO with a huge win last weekend, just as you thought Fax had a big score, OO do that. They're on top form. York RI are a great home side though, but I feel OO to strong around the park for them OO by 15+\

Good Luck to those who get a game out.

Good Luck to all

Our League secretary, can't comment on others, has already applied flexibility to the rules to avoid unnecessary travel and messing refs about for a morning inspection. Of course, oppostion have to agree to play their part.
Eg, at the moment, all our pitches are frozen solid and unplayable. They were just about passable on weds morning.
"Bother!" said Pooh, as he found his smack had talc in it.

Surely the Mods game should not be a HWO given the conditions and postponements across all the Yorkshire Leagues. Any thoughts anyone.

Leeds Modernians instructed Hornsea to take a walk over win on Wednesday, which they did.

Hornsea’s coastal pitch was also playable yesterday.

I agree about the Mods game.

I don't think Hornsea pitch would have been playable to be honest.

Hornsea should want to play Mods in the future at home.

Onto next week, I feel teams will be in the same situation

As stated above, Leeds Modernians instructed Hornsea to take a walk over win on Wednesday, which they did.

Hornsea’s coastal pitch was playable on Saturday, as were other coastal grounds, Withernsea, our neighbours played, and other coastal matches were played at Percy Park and Redcar.

We enjoyed our visit to Leeds Modernians earlier in the season and were looking forward to them visiting us.

We also suffered two walk over defeats last season, like Mods, when we were unable to raise a side.

We will gladly entertain Mods later in the season, when they are back at full strength.

Yes agree, Mods should be awarded the postponement seen as it is across the league that weekend. Feels a little unfair from the league and surely Hornsea want the home game for bar revenue etc.
Was the pitch inspected on Saturday morning and deemed playable, I can't imagine so after instruction Wednesday for the walkover? Or is this not required after an early HWO?

Yes, the pitch was inspected on Saturday and was playable, as we had a function at the club.

We will gladly entertain Mods, when they have a full quota again, at the end of the season on a free week if possible.

Does everyone feel the same for this weekend?

Seems to be worse than it was last week!

What's the pitches like at the coast Hollis?

Our pitch is white over with snow following Wednesday's snow.

Our match away at Halifax has been called off.
