Driff started match in fine form, with smart interpassing and good backing up, but were initially only rewarded with two penalties. However, the penalty count grew and also a yellow card, together with two fortuitous Scunthorpe tries from mistakes and lucky bounces. Driff always looked the most likely winners and later in the game failed to finish off two long breaks to the Scunny try line. I was admiring the organisation of the Scunny lineout, when they lost three on the trot! In the end Driffield scored two late tries to gain the bonus point, aided by the double yellow turned to red by A Scunny forward. They must have been soured that they failed to get one point as they have a big solid pack. Next week away at Pontefract will give indications of how both teams will fare for the rest of the season.
