Any news, views or shanter - regarding friendlies or other games on the coming weekend? Or even dare predictions or comments on RWC final?

My money's on New Zealand - they can play a bit and likely to have finishers on the bench who make a positive difference when they come on. All Blacks +7
.

RSA vs NZR
If SA's bomb squad can leave the name calling out of it they should push the ABs all the way. World rugby to keep the Afrikaans phrasebook close at hand for any disciplinary issues. Kiwis - 7

Shanter reflection on last weekends results in-lieu of predictions:

Bramley Phoenix 10 - 28 Baildon
Funders happier this week to see a return on investment, promotion hopes still alive

Leeds Corinthians 5 - 18 Yarnbury
4 yellow cards is a quiet afternoon out in Miggy. No drama on the side lines. Great TREDs rugby. Staropramen frothy

North Ribblesdale 45 - 22 Dinnington
Balcony boo boys feeling extra smug with plenty of self-congratulations. Wheels fallen off at Dinno

Ripon 44 - 16 Ossett
Ripon masses providing support for a big home win on an historic day, rumours of a slight smile from the visitors indicating they're not as vacuum-ous as first-impressions would lead you to think

Roundhegians 31 - 30 Huddersfield Laund Hill
Job done for the snoozers, just. They'll enjoy their weekend lie in this week.

Wath Upon Dearne 28 - 17 Hemsworth
Predictable result for the champions-elect, print the banner now

In a merit league game yesterday, Ripon 2nds (Genuine) went down 34 - 10 to a strong, young and very pacy Leos 2nds. Fair deal, they played much better. Two things puzzled me and don't suppose any Leos on her - I left immediately so couldn't ask - The ref looked like a very slimmed down version of a massive prop who used to play lower sides when I still played - bit of a club stalwart and affable character in the bar etc. Anyway, he did an amazing job despite hobbling around. Spoke maturely to players all through, stood no nonsense at scrum or breakdown and ensured the game was played in a great spirit. A commendation if possible as he was just right and set a great example.

The other thing was there was another game going on between "Leeds Hunters" and another side, all of whom looked predominantly like veterans, with some younger thrown in. Hunters look like their hosted at Leos, so can anyone shed any light on them, their provenance and if a regular side, might they be interested in the odd "proper" vets game from time to time?

Back to league action next weekend and looking forward to the warm welcome at Baildon.
