A couple of rearranged games this weekend.

Bridlington v Glossop - Brid with be seething after their last second defeat last weekend and will bounce back with a win here in a vital game in hand. Glossop I can't imagine will be looking forward to venturing over the peaks for another long away day in what is proving a long season.

Dronfield v Selby - Selby following last weeks result must be confident on strolling to the title and I can't imagine they'll struggle against the boring Dronfield so another 5 points as TalkIsCheap and his followers march on to North East 1.

Goole v Malton and Norton - Its the end of Feb and these two sides haven't met yet so a tough one to call. I can see them being very evenly matched but backing Goole at home on a rearranged game week. a 4 points to 1.

Bridlington v Glossop – A bonus point win for Brid and a big improvement in their points difference tally which could be vital in who avoids the drop.

Dronfield v Selby – Close game but just a Dronfield win.

Goole v M&N – Another close game with home advantage just giving Goole a home win.

Glossop can't raise a side. 5 points deduction.....5 points for Brid BUT no points scored so they haven't improved their points difference.

At this level you wouldnt expect a team not to be able to raise a squad and an easy 5 points to be given away.

BRB

Think 23rd March when Brid play Scarborough at Dukes park is going to be a massive game.  I've already arranged to be over in Brid that weekend.

a bit unfair on Brid, they should be awarded the mean average of points scored against Glossop at their place.
Otherwise if it comes down to point difference at the end of the season that decides relegation, they could justifiably feel very aggrieved.

Although it means they avoid injuries and red cards.

Plus....how many other walkovers will Glossop give?

Yes it will be..... however every remaining match for Brid, Scarborough and Old Crocs will be massive.

It happened to us before Xmas.
Apparently, if points for/against are relevant at season end, then adjustments are made accordingly to the teams involved. Now, whether you can trust that process.... 🙄

How pathetic is that comment. Glossop have been a fine club and tough opposition over the years. Perhaps you should hope that your club do not have to deal with such a predicament.
Your apathy towards a fellow Rugby club does you no honour whatsoever.  We are part of the great rugby family who do not wish ill on other clubs, even Yorkshire clubs. Really makes my blood boil when old farts as yourself use throw away comments so as to garnish your keyboard persona. That is pathetic.

Agreed, though I can’t imagine they will as they have a nice roster of imports at the ready.

I feel for Glossop as earlier in the year when speaking to some of their supporters it was said they’d lost around 14 players due to retirement and the switching of leagues (across to NE) - was presuming they must’ve had some players who didn’t like the idea of having to do a lot of travelling over the season. Certain unexpected changes like these can have a greater impact and I hope the changes don’t cause Glossop to go into freefall. They’re a proper community rugby club who’ve given their all despite a tough season

Perhaps a pathetic state of affairs would be a better description. A club at level 6 not fulfilling a fixture is pretty average.

Have you noticed that it's always away games that teams suddenly can't raise a side.

Not always, Barnsley have found themselves struggling the last few seasons. Given quite a few away walkovers

I understand your frustration brb, but I think it’s only due to the effect it might have on Scarborough. Though realistically only Scarborough can only blame themselves for where they are in the league standings.

Seems a bit out of order you popping off at Glossops unfortunate circumstances

Agree, Benchie. Perhaps folk in Glossop have jobs and families to look after, never mind the travelling cost to the club. Of course as has been stated Scabs have millions in the bank, they should feel very lucky.
