Anyone from over the hill coming to Sedgeley Park today?

Lancs U20's v Yorks U20's    2.15pm KO.

Promises of a good match.

Four North Ribb lads in starting line up, no doubt being spied on by the money men higher up the league ladder. With another on the bench and also a travelling reserve making a total of six involved. Far and away a club record for us at any county level.
Good luck YU20s

That's excellent Flaggy. You should be very proud.... Are they all still at your club?

Still all at Ribb and part of our success this season. All played in a successful colts side a couple of years ago. One lad wen to Wharfedale for last season but was welcomed back to play with his mates, and, get regular games that the Foresters dont seem to be able to offer, for a variety of reasons. Proud day indeed for lowly North Ribb. Just heard they lost 22 - 21

A close game,  22-21.  We had 4 of ours in the pack including the captain and each winger, Mr Baker the young scrum half played from under 9's until last June in our M&J section and was poached by Blackburn for the Kings shilling.  Otherwise we would have had 7 in the starting line up. 4 of them at 18 years old and so able to play in the same team next year.
Now imagine this...... in this shop window game, maybe they all are tempted away, (and who can blame them) what does that do for our chances of success of next season?

We are a true grassroots rugby.  We do not pay players. The above mentioned Gents came through our M&J and Junior system and many congratulations to them. But we, as a club have nothing (but their undoubted talent) to show for years of coaching and providing facilities for them to play.  Where is the justice in that?
I'm sure we are not unique in that situation.
So if you pay players, do not look down on us from higher leagues and say you are better clubs or more successful.  You have simply benefitted from a true grassroots rugby club and you need to acknowledge that fact.

The above is not aimed solely at  Lancashire and Yorkshire clubs but clubs across the country and the RFU who think they are the elite and can grow and prosper without grassroots rugby clubs who supply the stars of tomorrow.

Support and invest in grassroots rugby, it is the future of our game.

I'd hazard a guess at North Ribblesdale!

Thanks Sail By.

Interesting that none of the North Ribb boys seem to be credited with being from there? County snobbery??

And our friend Dalesman is from Rochdale...he's still hurting from his trip to Silver Royd 😁

The Ribb boys are well documented on the Yorkshire marketing material

A good bunch of lads that came through the 17s and 18s

Sailor Man,
you are well informed One of our lads is down as a Leeds Becketts player. Dont know why, but he plays for us every week and intends to keep doing so. He is an outstanding fullback but has been picked on the wing where he will, I am sure, be equally impressive for the U20s,
For those who are in doubt , the following played and are all at North Ribb. H.Mathew, C.Mathew, B.Coultherd, O.Drew. Sub E.Marklew,
Travelling reserve F.Spensley. I couldn't give a toot which club they are down as being from, but, if anyone cares to look at the GMS, or better still, visit Ribb for a home game and purchase a match day programme you will see all their names on our teamsheet .
We are, very proud to supply so many players to a county side at that level.
