I also went to Brid yesterday and agree mostly with Kellythorpes views. Goole probably lost the game in the first twenty minutes when they exerted loads of pressure in the opposition 22. However, other things contributed as well. In one attack for some unknown reason with three players outside and 15m from the line the fly half grubber kicked over the try line for Brid to touch down. Another bemusing decision made by Captain was to have a scrum 22 out in front of the posts instead of kicking a simple penalty to make it 13-0.

Brid also worked out Goole’s lack of variation in the line outs, you could say they are a one man band and Brid stopped the guy in the head guard getting any good ball and with the dwarf at the front easily picked off, a supply of good ball was almost stopped.

I suppose you could say they became one dimensional and continued doing the same things over and over again when a change in the game plan might have worked in their favour

Whilst remembering yesterdays match I was somewhat horrified to hear one of Brids coaching team F/ing almost every other word and at the top of his voice, no screaming would be realistic, whilst stood in front of the stand which contained impressionable youngsters as well as the more seasoned supporters who may be more accustomed to his vitriol. I hope when he reflects on his contributions he is proud of himself!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon all! Interesting set of results this weekend, making it a nail biting run in to the season finale.

Starting with Selby vs Scarborough. The travelling side have really turned it on this side of Christmas and unfortunately for Selby, they got the brunt of it. I hope Scabs have enough to stay up, fantastic club and a great set up.

Secondly, Moortown vs Old Brods. Banana skin for Old Brods which if they had won, could’ve put them back in the driving seat for promotion? I hear the Moortown forwards took control of the set piece which allowed their backs to do their thing. It seemed the town backline were willing to take on the Brods midfield, who were only able to respond with very little resistance. However, Selby vs Brods in 2 weeks time is still a huge fixture, regardless of this slip up. It just makes it more interesting now with Rochdale putting even more pressure on Selby.

Goole vs Bridlington. What a result for Brid. This could be absolutely pivotal for their hopes to stay up. Not nice to hear about their coach f’ing and blinding but I suppose that’s what you expect when you’re under performing. Just a shame he couldn’t contain himself in front of the next generation. Hopefully he’ll reflect on it and be better next time.

Enjoy the week off!
