This league season has been incredibly competitive, however I don’t believe I’ve seen a side that has the ability to go up and be competitive. However haven’t seen Harrogate since the opening weekend.
I think the York side I saw on both occasions would of been in the best position, but the lack of depth shows the squad as a whole wasn’t, so staying in the league probably best thing for them.
I’m not sure if Heath will invest in the squad, but imagine more depth would be needed. And Harrogate clearly need to invest in the pitch before they even worry about the playing squad.
Based on Billinghams dominance of the league and struggles, I think which ever side is promoted, will be favourites to come back down.
In the relegation zones I think Ponte will do well again in the league below, and if Donny don’t manage to avoid the drop they no doubt will be to strong for regional 2.
As it looks like we will be no doubt getting 4 sides into the league and potentially only losing 2 it will be interesting to see which sides are shuffled around to make space.
Donny/Scunny to the midlands?
Heath going West potentially if not up??
I can’t disagree with most of that Differlad.
York were flying, but injuries brought them down to the ground with a bump!
But everything happens for a reason and that bump was a wake up call for those at York (myself included) who thought they could possibly compete at the next level.
This league is a very decent standard of rugby and if you are not at your best you can be found out by any team in it!
I have been thoroughly entertained by most games and my disappointments have been few and far between.
Usually due to York’s shortcomings as apposed to anything else.
We have one monkey on our back! We have never beaten Alnwick !
Although every time it has been very close affair we are 5-0 down. So a home win in the final game of the season will cap a great campaign for York.
Allowing us to go into the summer break on a high!
