Let’s see if anyone can predict the score for tomorrow’s game. If the pitch is playable that is.

I think it will be just as close as last week, particularly with the poor pitch conditions. If Donny can kick Harrogate into the corners all day then the penalties will build up. Harrogate will score a couple of tries and maybe convert one. They will be pushing for the bonus point win so I can’t imagine they will take many kicks at goal. I’m going to say Harrogate 12 - Doncaster 15.

Harrogates team looking strong. Donny need points to maintain the final reprieve position.
Another massive game for both sides for promotion/relegation.
Think Harrogate win in another tight game

Game is being played on the artificial surface at Yarnbury. 3pm KO.

Harrogates pitch is laughable. Can’t believe a side that has national league ambitions cant play at home because it drizzles on a Monday

No surprises. The league normally does not lie.
With Driffield probably eyeing up the cups, can’t see the league positions changing after the final game.
So money does talk!
I wouldn’t swap position with either Heath or Harrogate though. Neither have the facilities nor pitches that York have and we don’t have the mercenaries that they have.
I wish them both well , whoever goes up?

Bit of a hammering for Donny it would appear. Big games next weekend at Harrogate ( maybe ! ) and Ilkley.

I tend to agree that Harrogate should clinch the title, to which frankly, they’re welcome ! Still, Driff will give them a good game, as Ilkley will Heath.

From a Stacks Field point of view, I just hope we don’t come third from bottom at 10th, having reached the lofty heights of 6th not so long ago.

This league season has been incredibly competitive, however I don’t believe I’ve seen a side that has the ability to go up and be competitive. However haven’t seen Harrogate since the opening weekend.
I think the York side I saw on both occasions would of been in the best position, but the lack of depth shows the squad as a whole wasn’t, so staying in the league probably best thing for them.

I’m not sure if Heath will invest in the squad, but imagine more depth would be needed. And Harrogate clearly need to invest in the pitch before they even worry about the playing squad.

Based on Billinghams dominance of the league and struggles, I think which ever side is promoted, will be favourites to come back down.

In the relegation zones I think Ponte will do well again in the league below, and if Donny don’t manage to avoid the drop they no doubt will be to strong for regional 2.

As it looks like we will be no doubt getting 4 sides into the league and potentially only losing 2 it will be interesting to see which sides are shuffled around to make space.
Donny/Scunny to the midlands?
Heath going West potentially if not up??

I can’t disagree with most of that Differlad.
York were flying, but injuries brought them down to  the ground with a bump!
But everything happens for a reason and that bump was a wake up call for those at York (myself included) who thought they could possibly compete at the next level.
This league is a very decent standard of rugby and if you are not at your best you can be found out by any team in it!
I have been thoroughly entertained by most games and my disappointments have been few and far between.
Usually due to York’s shortcomings as apposed to anything else.
We have one monkey on our back! We have never beaten Alnwick !
Although every time it has been very close affair we are 5-0 down. So a home win in the final game of the season will cap a great campaign for York.
Allowing us to go into the summer break on a high!

York have beaten Alnwick in a league game but not since the 90s.

The full set of league results is listed in this programme from our game at the beginning of the season. https://anyflip.com/xnbja/wuvx/

Interestingly Alnwicks only 0-0 league draw was against York in February 1997.

Billingham have struggled a bit this season but if you look the team sheets they’ve had some of their stand out players in the backs injured for most of the season. Looking at the Nat 2 table I think they’ll just about manage to stay up. It’ll be two well established national league clubs, Huddersfield and Hull Ionians coming down.

I stand corrected. I was alluding to the recent history and encounters between the two current teams.
So as I was saying a victory next week will get this up to date ‘monkey ‘off their backs!!
