Is Harrogate v Driffield being played as a double header?

The reason I ask is that in the original pizza cup draw they are due to meet in the cup on April 13 @ Harrogate.

Not a double header, still due to travel to ridding park next week!

Double Headers not allowed by the administrators. They would sooner a club has to pay £800 for a bus rather than take a common sense view. Even if both clubs agreed. Madness.

Well that’s one wasted journey charge for Driffield and additional bus costs for Harrogate.

Game on at Kelleythorpe

Isn’t the PJ cup the only competition where travel expenses are paid?

Just about. But don't hold your breath expecting to get much. Papa Johns are struggling. Closing 43 branches as they are Hemorrhaging money.

Allegedly so, however, before we decided not to enter we asked the question, and I was personally told that the travel budget had not been decided and so nobody could tell what , if anything, the support would be. Not good enough really as I would have thought that would all have been agreed with the main sponsors, then communicated to the clubs in a professional manner prior to the competition being announced, so that all clubs could make an informed decision prior to entering. This approach, had it been adopted may have reduced considerably the number walkovers. Lets see.
Good Luck to all clubs.

The RFU actually posted on their website at the time that funding arrangements had yet to be agreed.
Looking at the draws, it appears, to me, that quite a few Northern teams have declined to enter.
This pointless competion will be gone soon enough but i doubt the RFU will take responsibility for the right royal mess they've made of everything.
Edit.
This from the website just now.
"Travel funding support will be available based on the same process as last year. More information will be communicated soon."

The PJ’s is another RFU disaster.
I hope York withdraw as it is a Mickey Mouse competition with a Sponsor who is desperate to get out of their original obligations.
The only people who want this competition are the usual free loaders who want another heavily sponsored day out at Twickenham!!!
The PJ should be binned and The Yorkshire cups, shield, vase? reintroduced and valued!
Have no fear of perfection, you’ll never reach it.”

Sadly there has been 18 walkovers so far in the various Yorks cup comps this season. Hardly a ringing endorsements from the clubs.

Surely the valuing of the Yorkshire Cup/Shield/Vase has to come from the clubs? The competition is there. When Driffield went to Scarborough for the Semi-Final it felt like an occasion, imagine it was a decent gate for Scarborough, which is what clubs are screaming out for, more home games. Both clubs respected the competition they entered and it has paid for both. (It has to be noted that Scarborough could have easily pulled out of the cup and favoured league survival fight)

The cups offer the opportunity to play teams outside of our normal pool of clubs, as well as an opportunity for additional home games. I for one think they should both be embraced, even if it’s an opportunity for fringe players, youth and second team players to be given the opportunity to play on a first team stage.

At Regional1 you might play clubs outside your region in the pizz pot cups but for the rest you pretty much play the same teams in your own league. More so in the Yorks cup comps. As for home games in the cup comps, what's one of them??
