Far from me to defend Harrogate but it has done nothing but leerdammer it down here all week. If their pitch wasn't playable last weekend it's definitely not playable this week.

Pitch not playable, squad of 10 players available.
Calling off at 6pm on Thursday night. Suppose it’s better than Friday venue change and a Saturday venue change.

I still stand by the cups are a massive opportunity and offer something special for clubs, but the cup is currently being destroyed by clubs/players lack of buy in.

That's the point, most clubs didn't buy into it in the first place. More so when it was clear the RFU lied to clubs regarding the structure.

But clubs who were in the draw did buy into it before Christmas, and then again following the draw in January. Multiple opportunities for teams to get out of the cup before this week.

Evidence shows they didn't buy into it.
Committee will on the off chance of a home fixture. That too can be a poison chalice, cost/expense wise.

The pitch is in a sorry state
From the release, it looks like they're hoping to have it sorted for the junior festival and don't want to jeopardise the festival for the sake of the PJ cup.

There is still a lunch going ahead and also the u15's will be playing on one of the back pitches hopefully - although they, as expected are not the best after this amount of rain.

BBB stop paying players and sort your drainage out!!
Harrogate once respected back in the day as a senior club!
Now they stagger from calamity to calamity. Such a shame the blazers in charge don’t seem to understand they are custodians and should be trying to re-establish and continue a once proud legacy!!

I've always thought the chat about 'senior club' is meaningless - to me it's something that goes back 30+ years ago, that old boys then talked about - not relevant in the modern game and to be honest nothing I've ever been bothered about.

Is there anyone under 50 that knows what a supposed senior club is? I don't and they just don't care either

What waffle is this?
600+ juniors on a weekend is quite the 'legacy'

You can’t count visiting juniors in your numbers!
If you have that many kids attending training or games every weekend what are you coaching? Trench Warfare!

Translate that into putting out more adult teams and I'll be impressed.

600 junior Players being coached to go and play for other clubs before seen good enough to be enticed back to be paid to play for the 1 senior men’s side.
Seems a strong business model

I suppose Harrogate have always used players from other clubs. Just look at the number of Driff lads who have played there. The Cooper brothers, Towse, Hall, Marcroft (also captain), Whyly and Bell. Abbott also from Whitby.
