Couldnt agree more Stella. Unfortunately they are nodding dogs who vote as instructed by the powers that be, have their snouts in the trough and do not really have any connect with us, the clubs they are supposed to represent. God only knows what would happen if anybody with "A Pair" actually stood up and said "Enough is Enough" this is what the majority of clubs in our county actually want so please listen.
Dont think anyone would listen. As to a Wharfedale rep at Twickers. Will have a little bet with you. Bet there is a proposal again in the next two years for 2nd teams from "senior" clubs to be admitted into the league structure potentially further diminishing small clubs ability to turn sides out and a potential other nail on the coffin lid of the game we all feel strongly about. I would be delighted to be proven wrong and no such move is made. Watch this space!!!!!
So you can't be bothered then?
See how this looks?
As it happens, the Council held a meeting on Friday.
Tier Two update is just word soup.

Against the betting Blackburn honoured the fixture at Driffield. I’m told essentially because their chair had already booked a weekend away in the metropolis that is Driffield.
Blackburn had only a very scratch side out that included their coach (rugby, not driver) and someone who hadn’t played for 10 years.
That said Driff had 9 starters missing at a wedding. So credit to both sides for going ahead.
Driff ran out easy winners after a relatively equal first 30.
So fully restored Driff now host York next week for the decider.
York a victim of being a sports club again. As I believe Driff were kindly prepared to play at York, so both sides would have a home game and away game, but Clicket are playing next week at Clifton Park, just so long that is not raining, too dark, too hot and the outfield is not dangerously wet!!!

With Heath visiting an equally big spending side at Rossendale on Saturday in the aptly named PJ cup, it’s a battle of the semi pros.
Whilst York visit Driffield in an attempt to dethrone the current holders in front of a sell out lunch and large crowd.
I’m told if Driffield win they are going to make a sacrificial offering in the burning of a Whicker Man.
Who ever emerges from this tie  victorious , I believe will have travel to who ever emerges as the victor between the semi pro’s.
Good luck to all, apart from Driff! 😀

Will be interesting to see whether Rossendale do have their big guns playing, with the likes of Denny Solomona, Byron McGuigan and Johnny Leota in the squad, they can definitely pack 'experience'...

According to England rugby website Heath are home v Rossendale.
So advantage Heath I think!
I do think the game to watch will be Driff v York as they will play the more expansive and open rugby.

It’s knock out rugby now, with a lot on the line, and all R1 NE teams appearing to be taking it seriously, so think which ever game people go to watch tomorrow will be in for a good game.

What a great game at Driffield yesterday.
York dominating the first half into a strong breeze. Before Driffield doing the same in the second. Driffield almost home bar the last 5 minutes where York had found enough energy to press really hard. Driffield resisting a number of catch and drive line outs before York moving it wide for Shackleton to show his class and tip toe through the defense. Then to take the win with the last kick of the game. To silence the well oiled balcony crowd. 30-31.
A game probably worthy of the final itself. But the current champions dethroned in their own back yard.

Phenomenal game at Heath yesterday vs Rossendale.

Probably the best game at level 5 I’ve seen this year. No quarter asked or given. Really great to watch. Personally I also thought it was a fantastic performance by the officials. Got some huge calls right and didn’t let the occasion get the better of them. Just shows what neutral touch judges every week would do for this league.
However.
Rossendale were appalling towards the officials at full time. The coaches were also very ungracious in defeat.
Such a shame as most of the players were great.

And why did you have neutral touch judges?

31-24 to Heath

And because they were asked for apparently. Reckon they should have been appointed for all of the PJ games at this stage tbh

And why did you have neutral touch judges?

Yesterday’s game at Kelleythorpe was not only a fantastic advert for level 5 rugby, but a fantastic advert for what this cup has to offer for sides that take the opportunity seriously.

Both sides played some brilliant rugby and York taking it at the death.

Driffield had the same luck this time last season on the run to Twickenham, and thats knock out rugby, so no complaints with the result.

The touch judge situation certainly is confusing, believe the off side line would have been controlled much better with official Touch judges.

With yet again a NE1 side representing the league at Twickenham it speaks volumes for this league.

Congratulations to Heath and York. And best of luck over the next 2 weekends. What an experience that awaits next weekends winners.

York are waiting to find out if they have to go on the road again?
They’ve Not had a home game so far in this competition this year?
Let’s see if the administrators can sort out this disparity?

Is the size of Heaths pitch acceptable for a national cup semi final?
In a league fixture I understand that it’s ok, each team in the league has to play on the pitch so it levels its self out over a season.

However for a 1 off cup fixture it’s a massive disadvantage to the away side.

Away from the actual dimensions of the pitch, the perimeter (brick wall of the stand) surely can’t be safe given the level and intensity of a game of this level (might be worth requesting the latest risk assessment)
7 subs plus coaches in the narrow space next to the wall can’t be safe.

Have adults county sides played on the pitch for example?

This is smart.
That pitch and general area won’t meet requirements I bet.

It’d be a shrewd move to have somebody official check.
