Please release the correct figure that you lured Dobson away from Ilkley with. The truth is known roundabouts but I am interested in what you will reveal on here. Some of us will then know if you speak the truth or with "Forked Tongue".

Harrogate needs to sort out its roads before anything else. Absolutely shocking levels of potholes and surface damage everywhere.
not sure how many times you have visited HRFC RH but you don’t go anywhere near the potholes! Especially if you are coming from the East Coast!

I was sat with a Harrogate bigwig pre match, when we played at Pythons some 18 months ago when he was bemoaning the fact that Gate had £60 -£70k playing budget against other teams' (then Nat 2) budget of £130k plus. Even at that level I would have thought that the pitch would be a priority. Lets see. Still a lot of money to pay to one team of players IMO

Playing budget is different to player budget.

Playing budget will include travel, kit, physios, coaches, fees, training facilities, equipment, registrations, match fees, travel expenses plus other costs for senior rugby.

I assume most clubs run with a playing budget over a budget just to pay players
of course!

‘Allegedly and the truth is known roundabouts’

Again you’ve just heard Chinese whispers, he said/she said and I heard from a man down the pub.

Allegedly if you signed for ilkley around 6/7 years ago, they would fit you a new bathroom as payment as they couldn’t pay players - obviously this was made up by someone, but didn’t stop it doing the rounds for quite a while and gullible people believing it.

Unless they player has directly told you the figures - you do not know what their match fee is. The ones that usually shout about it are the ones that are making it up.

I’m no hgate bigwig or sit on the committee etc, but know a lot more about the ins and outs at hgate than the majority on here.

If anyone factually knows the list of players in the league that get £200+ match fee, do share, but don’t just chuck out names of ones you ‘think’ are 😀😀😀

It doesn’t matter how much Harrogate are wasting on players!
Their facilities are embarrassing and the will be back in the league of non payers in a blink of an eye.
If you have got 6000000 juniors as you claim, are they not entitled to pitches that you cannot contract horrible diseases from as well as a club house to be proud of?
Youth sections are not there to be plundered. They are they to develop rugby , not mud wrestling or paying ordinary players, inflated wages!

jeez, what's wrong with the clubhouse now?

Parking facilities, changing rooms, beer, food, baby changing facilities - anything wrong with these?

If only we could join the high and mighty 'non' paying of players at York - allegedly ........

Naming players on a public forum like it is being used as a stick to beat the individual with isn’t exactly the point of this thread.

Harrogate crowd funding whilst paying players is the point.

But it's ok to name a current Harrogate player and his supposed match fee numerous times?

My view on the crowd funding, is that the money should come from club funds to pay for the pitch and not via a crowdfunder - however I wouldn't say no to help along the way to get the pitches up to scratch.

With respect BBB I never mentioned any player regarding payment. I was merely seeking your inside knowledge on how much ££££ you lured Dobson away from Ilkley per game. As you rightly say you are more in the know at Gate than the rest of us mere mortals so please share your undoubted knowledge of all things Gatefinancial.

I would imagine that the said Mr Dobson would be appalled if a member of his club/ committee published his earnings on an internet forum

I'm sure he would and that's why there is no one from Gate offering advice or knowledge of what any player gets paid on here.

However, there are many experts on the forum speculating how much Gate players get paid and even chucking figures out there for certain players

You never mentioned any player regarding payment, but you want to know how much a certain player is paid at Gate.......Sounds like the same thing to me
Even if I knew, I would not be sharing match fees on any player on a forum, regardless of how much you try.

Following the threads, there are numerous posts about gate player payments and budget. It seems to be the in topic at the moment, but the figures are laughable, but believe what you want to believe - I'm just trying to give some balance

I haven’t mentioned any players names from Harrogate regarding payment, as I agree that discussing individuals on here isn’t right. However BBB you did ask for players to be name dropped, so can’t get on your high horse about it when it happened

As a club Harrogate require £15k of supporters money to carry out necessary repairs to the pitch….
I think it’s a more than reasonable assumption that gate players during the 2023/24 season received more than £15k in match fees alone. (£37 per player, per match on average)

And that’s what those on the outside looking in find fault with.  If player payments hadn’t been made the funds would be available. If next season the club didn’t pay players, the funds would be available.

However as a club who has paid for a period of time given their recent history in the national leagues, it would be difficult to imagine what the future of Gates 1st team would look like with out player payments, but at least the club would have a pitch for all those mini and juniors to play on.
