Heard a rumour completely amateur outfit Heath might be making the move over to the west league next season.

Anybody heard similar?

There is some talk that Northern will be promoted along with Percy Park from Regional 2 North and Selby from Regional 2 North East.

Final paragraph in this match report hints at that.

https://northernfc.rfu.club/match/1116367/23-24-1st-xv-vs-alnwick-cup-final-at-morpeth-13th-april-2024/

I can’t quite understand why they would be promoted? If that was the case, then there would be 14 clubs in the league next season before level transfers:

Hull Ionaians/Billingham
Huddersfield
Heath
York
Driffield
Alnwick
Blaydon
Scunthorpe
Sandal
Ilkley
Cleckheaton
Selby
Percy Park
Northern

So maybe Heath or another West Yorkshire club to go west and Scunthorpe to go to the midlands leagues.

The top team from every level 6 league (north east 2) get promoted plus a number of teams (could be 6) in second place with the best playing record also come up.

On that basis Northern will get promoted and the leagues reduced to 12 clubs by level transfer. That could be any side in theory.

Not sure who is furthest West is it Heath or Huddersfield?

Obvious that Scunny are southern most.

Anything can happen with theRFU at the helm?

I know that was a 'thing' for L7 but where/when did they suggest similar for L6

I think Heath just might have put themselves forward thinking it might be an easier way to progress up the league ladder. But then again I may be wrong., Dont think their treasurer will be happy about missing so many local games like Cleck, Huddersfield, Sandal , Selby and Ilkley to name but a few. Looks a very good league to me with loads of traditional Yorkshire clubs in it.

If they get a result against Rossendale on Saturday, and seeing Driff and Yorks scores against Blackburn the West league could certainly be the route to Nat 2.
But not sure they would request it! Imagine they might fancy facing Huddersfield in the league

Donning the anorak again, current Regs (Reg 6, App2) makes no allowance for extra promotion slots. That only occurs between L6-L7.
Principles of Promotion
3. c)
National 2 League to Regional 2 League inclusive (formerly Levels 4 to 6): the highest placed Club in each League will be
promoted to the Level above;

Principles of Relegation.
4. d) National League 2 to Regional 2 inclusive (formerly Levels 4 to 6): the bottom two (2) Clubs in each League will be relegated,
with Clubs relegated from Regional 2 returning to their respective Constituent Body Counties Leagues, unless otherwise
determined by the ROC and approved by the Committee;

Looked up what dichotomy means- still no clearer
Just simply wanting to know/find out the opinion/comments from anybody from Heath ?
If nothing by Friday might pop  down and have an ask/find out the truth ?

Billingham finished 12 and Hull Ionians were the best placed 13th team across the Nat 2 leagues, so both survive.

Next season my prediction would be:

Huddersfield/Heath go to Regional 1 West, to fill the spot promoted Macclesfield have left.

Regional 1  North East

Huddersfield/Heath
York
Driffield
Alnwick
Blaydon
Scunthorpe
Sandal
Ilkley
Cleckheaton
Selby
Percy Park
Northern

4 Northumbrian/Tyneside teams helps readdress the balance of the league a little.

The decision on who goes will have a huge impact on who gets promoted next year.
Heath will be right up there whereas I expect Huddersfield to be in a basement battle given the rumours abound about their current situation.

Interesting decision to come.
