So, 40 yrs of paying players and bringing in overseas players, gets you to one senior XV and £110,000 of debt.

Shay Lane would make a lovely residential development, as I suspect their landlord is aware.

Good luck to Salem, maybe they can be the club that beats the system and actually goes forth and climbs the leagues, however i think without mega financial backing they will eventually fall back to their level which is where they were last season or one league below. Maybe in a couple of years they will have a local "Derby" against the Bees at a Yorkshire level that was unimaginable before the demise of Bradford as a "senior" club. Maybe the Bees should have a conversation with their benefactor as their policy of paying players is not working, After falling five levels in 20 years the people who run the club should have a serious look at the clubs policy.
No critisism of anyone but delusions of grandeur rarely end in success in my opinion and often end in financial issues.
Enough said.

The comments on justgiving are comedy gold. How tone deaf do you have to be to ask for money while paying players ridiculous amounts to get you from level 7 to level 6?

The serious one is my favourite:

"Best ever season on the pitch, possibly worst ever financial position - weird!"

Yeah, weird that those two things have come about... I simply cannot fathom how!

Proper, traditional rugby clubs are the ones communities love and the ones that people enjoy going to.

Salem, sadly, is not that. Mercenaries - fuelled by unsustainable finances - and a supposed empty clubhouse after winning the treble should be a telling sign.

Say the rumoured numbers are true (and I am not saying they are), and they are paying out £2.2k a week in player salaries, they could easily be saving near 50k a season. That could be put into the clubhouse, improving a junior set up. It boggles the mind.

Rotten to the core and it comes at the expense of teams who work bloody hard week in week out to bring colts through. They deserve everything that comes to them.

I hope they fall down the leagues and sustainably rebuild.

I went to check on BS's crowdfunding activities and found the page copied below instead.

Anyone anything to add or explain the circumstances?

Donations to a Crowdfunding Page / Frozen Pages

There are lots of important financial regulations when it comes to donations made to Crowdfunding pages, so we need the fundraisers to add their bank details within a certain time frame.

If the fundraiser hasn't given us those details within this time frame, we freeze the page. This means that donations can't be made while we sort this out with them.

You'll be able to donate again once this is all straightened out with the fundraiser and we have those important bank details! After all, we can't get this money to where it needs to go without them!

If they need help with this then they can get in contact with our Crowdfunding specialists at crowdfunding@justgiving.com
