Looks like West Leeds have taken a hit loosing Elliah.

Was probably the best player in Y1 last season on his day.

I'd argue he was the difference in both games against us, scored and created several tries out of absolutely nothing. Big loss for them. Be interesting to see how West Leeds get on as they kind of imploded last season after their title charge faltered.

Y1 winners is really up for grabs for anyone. Bridlington will obviously be looking to bounce straight back up. Keighley have been very close in consecutive seasons and I'm sure will be hurting from losing their unbeaten home record. Pocklington finished the season strong and West Leeds have a strong team across the board. I think North Ribb could be this seasons dark horses, they had a very strong pack when we faced them in Y2 and apparently now have the backline to match. If they have kept hold of their players they will be very competitive and a long away day for most teams.

We have lost two of our young bucks to Uni from last season but have a "Walk-in Saffer" who has arrived on a long term visa to live with his mum in town, as a ready made replacement at 9. That and the return of two ex players from higher leagues with county experience give us hope of another decent season. I think injuries, or lack of them, will ultimately dictate our season but we are looking forward to welcoming lots of old friends back to North Ribb.
Good luck to all.

I don’t know whether it was the fact that we’d gone straight from Y3 to Y2 to Y1 but we found the physicality a massive step up and we were more affected by injuries than ever before, especially 2nd half of the season.  Squad depth will play a massive part in how successful everyone’s season will be.

I hear Old Rish are spending the £££- 3 or 4 flying in from the South Hemisphere to boost the push for promotion.

But seemingly not in time to make the Yorkshire Shield?

Correct Stella by the looks, or just not investing in front row?

Although i do find it odd having a pre-season friendly against a team in the same league its a shame Bridlington wimped out on the fixture this Saturday. Must be a hell of a stag do or have the imports not arrived yet? Regardless of this minor inconvenience, our boys will enjoy a good training session and a keg that's been put behind the bar. #properclub

Looks like they have made a wrong turn and ended up at Old Richworthians.

Cheap,
please explain, although I am aware that Sowerby Bridge is a much better place to visit than the once VERY accommodating Pock!!!!!

No idea on winner to be honest!

Keighley always strong at home but always slip up somewhere away, they will be in the top 3.

My dark horses this season are Wensleydale. Tough old place to go and with a big pack they will win close games in the winter months.

Ensians to go down.

Tough to decide on a winner this season, will depend on how well teams have recruited in my opinion but it makes for an exciting one ahead nevertheless. Heard whispers of Ribb bringing in a few players from overseas, whether these are Chinese or not i don't know, so who knows what they will be able to achieve in this league if they are true.

For me i can see the men from further down the 1079 improving on a mediocre season with the likes of Hazell and Co in the back line.

Wednesleydale will also be my dark horses for the season after having a promising first season.
