Welcome back all... plenty of time for your predictions for next weeks opener.

Bridlington vs Beverley - Always back your own, but a tough start for the Beavers this year heading to our local neighbours. Bev by a whisker - Bev -7

Leodiensian vs Harrogate Pythons - Pythons under achieved last year with a big pack.. I am think Leo's will be under cooked without any uni boys? - Gate -7

Old Rishworthian vs Wath Upon Dearne - Old Rish rumours of spending a bit of dosh so I will go with Old Rish. Never seen Wath so hard for me to judge. + 7 Rish

Wensleydale vs Pocklington - Game of the day. 2 big teams up front. Wensleydales experience to edge it here up front. My dark horses this year. -7 Dale

West Leeds vs North Ribblesdale - Upset of the day. West Leeds have lost a few and the main man. Ribbs to finish mid table this year and for them to get up and running with a BP Win! +7 Ribbs

Keighley vs Hullensians - League contender vs Relegation contenders. Fast pitch on a dry day, I am hoping Ensians have prepped well, because if not this could be a messy start. +7 Keighley

Other than Chitiyo, who have West Leeds lost ? They normally have a solid squad.

Sorry Speccy.

Only going by what I have been informed.

Take out 20+ tries a season will be a big miss. If they have only lost him, I presume a top 5/6 finish.

Bridlington vs Beverley - Brid lost to Hullensians in the YC last week and didn’t appear to have their usual southern hemisphere twist to their starting 15. It could be a long season of their chairmen doesn’t get the usual string of imports over sharply…Bev have been perennial underachievers over the last few seasons with the quality they have in their back line. If they can improve in the front 5 they have a chance of pushing the upper end of the table. Think they should have to much for Brid, especially if the weather stays dry. Away BP win.

Leodiensian vs Harrogate Pythons -Think Pythons will be stronger this year with more experience at this level, think their pack will bully Leos. Away win.

Old Rishworthian vs Wath Upon Dearne - can’t see beyond a home win here. Think Wath will struggle against sides who can match them physically but can also spread the ball.

Wensleydale vs Pocklington - Think Pock will be the team to beat, they will be looking to push for top spot after last season’s disappointment. Dale will put up a good fight mind and this will be a tight game.

West Leeds vs North Ribblesdale - West Leeds is always a horrible place to go, think they will have to much for North Rib, who’s youngsters will have to adapt quickly to Y1 rugby.

Keighley vs Hullensians -If we are going off last season, Keighley by a cricket score. Will be interesting to see if Keighley can go for a third season after missing promotion by such fine margins twice. Looking forward to watching this one.

Bridlington V Beverley - Bridlington will want to prove a point here just like any relegated side. However, the result of this match will ultimately be determined on what team Brid will field. To Beverley's disappointment i have heard the rumors of their winger joining Ionians are true from my good friend Fabrizio. Sat on the fence with this one, I'm sure it will be a good game for a neutral. Close home win but boy i hope i'm wrong. Bridlington -7

Leodiensian's V Pyttthhhhhon's - Same goes as what was said by Howzat, close game again but the pythons to nick an important couple of points here. Away Win. Pyttthhhhhon's -7

Old Richworthians V Wath Upon Dearne - Only down to the fact the wage bill will be higher than that of some Regional 1 teams its a home win here. Rich +7

Wensleydale V Pocklington - Cant imagine Dales team will be too dissimilar to that of last season so will be stronger with a season in Y1 under the belt. Our boys endured 2 good wins in pre season vs Driffield and Goole. Going to be a close one for sure. Close away win here. Pock -7

West Leeds V North Ribblesdale - Tough to decide on a winner due to not knowing what Ribb have in the locker but i think they may cause a few upsets this season, this being one of them. Also, Leeds losing a big player in that of Chitiyo. -7 Ribb

Keighley V Hullensians - Keighley to come out of the blocks fast on the astro track of theirs. Home win.  Keighley +7

Bridlington vs Beverley - not sure what to expect from Bridlington though imagine they’ll be keen to go straight back up. Beverley have enough to cause anyone problems though so think it will be close. Brid -7

Leodiensian vs Harrogate Pythons - big off season of change for us with a few first team regulars retiring or moving on and our head coach of 8 years stepping down. New coaching set up and a few new faces to fill the void though and there’s a good atmosphere around the club. Not really sure what to expect of this season but backing ourselves as always.

Old Rishworthian vs Wath Upon Dearne - if Rish have recruited well then this will be a baptism of fire for Wath. They will more than hold their own in the forwards but Rish’s backs are very good and should be the difference. Rish +7

Wensleydale vs Pocklington - Pock are one of my dark horses this year after an excellent 2nd half of last season. Their pack should match Wensleydale but their backs could do a lot of damage. Pock +7

West Leeds vs North Ribblesdale - Ribb my other dark horse this season and will be looking to make a statement early on. I don’t know what West Leeds will look like but Elijah is a huge loss on his own. Ribb -7

Keighley vs Hullensians - long day at the office for Ensians. Keighley will be looking to re-establish their home fortress and should have enough for a comfortable BP win. Keighley +7

Brid v Bev Think Bev will prevail and we look forward to welcoming them next week Bev -7
Leos at home -7
It appears as though the southern Hemisphere boys have not yet arrived so will go for Python -7
Complete punt but Wensley at home +7
Ribb missing plenty but training has been going well. If we pull off a win tomorrow it will be a statement of intent. Expect a close game but backing our young Bucks Ribb -7
Keighley by plenty +7
Good luck to all clubs and posters on here.

Good win today. Our young side blasted out of the blocks and we led 24 - 3 at the interval. We soon got the bonus point and despite West Leeds scoring a couple of late tries it was an emphatic victory. Six tries in all and a potential headache for the team management with several more senior players available next week.
Well received as usual at Bluehill Lane. I believe they had several players missing but think they will need to strengthen the front row to have another successful (top half) season at this level.
Early days but we couldnt have wished for more on our return to Y1

The main positive for us at the weekend was that that was exactly the type of game that we lost last season. Leaving points out on the field cost us 5 or 6 wins last season and first game of the season last year was exactly one of those fixtures so a good start to turn that one around. It's been a big off-season of change for us on and off the pitch but the boys are feeling good about the upcoming season and a bit of confidence will go a long way after last years' struggles.

Looking around at the other fixtures my tips for Ribb and Pock seem to be accurate. I was surprised at how close Hullensians got to Keighley but, with players like Manoa Wacokecoke lining up for them, they may have had a good recruitment drive. I'd be interested to hear any reports from the Old Rish v Wath game as there were rumours of Rish having recruited well, I did note their stand out 10/15 Rangi wasn't on the team sheet, he'd be a big loss for them.
