Beverley VS Pocklington - Local derby! Bev should of won at Brid. Pocklington started strong, but a big pitch at home I am going with a home win. -7 Bev

Bridlington VS North Ribblesdale - I am hearing North Ribb could be up there at the end of the season. If they are going to be up there they would want to win this one. +7 NB

Leodiensian VS Keighley - Keighley stream train in working order, cant see it stopping just yet. +7 Keighley

Old Rishworthian VS Hullensians - Interesting one... Ensians looked like they have recruited well. Close game here -7 Hull

Wensleydale VS Harrogate Pythons - Dale haven't started well but it is a tough place to go - +7 Dale

West Leeds VS Wath Upon Dearne - Wath have started life in Y1 have started well. Close game but -7 Wath

Pock +7
Ribb +7 Based only on the fact of Brids result against Beverley and ours on Saturday. 6 Missing from last starting line up due to a players wedding. We have more depth than previous years so still going for our young guns to prevail.
Keighley +7 Looks like a tough start for Leos until the student Cavalry come storming over the hill.
Ensians +7 Two good results in what looks like a reversal of last seasons struggles.
Pythons -7 Two good results for the snakes so far and momentum in either direction is difficult to lose/halt.
Wath +7 Not the best of travellers but only a short jaunt up the M1 so Wath to continue their good start (like Ribb) at these dizzy heights.

Beverley v Pocklington - game of the day I reckon. Beverley will throw the kitchen sink at them but I think Pock's pack might just edge this one for them. Certainly a game they'll want to win if they want to establish themselves as promotion contenders. Pock -7

Bridlington v North Ribb - by all accounts a few missing for Ribb which could tighten things up. Brid will be hurting after last week's pounding so I think there'll be a reaction. Going to keep backing Flaggy's lads for now though. Ribb -7

Leodiensian v Keighley - Leos starting slowly and Keighley backing up from hammering Brid. With the weather set to stay fair I'd expect Keighley to win with a BP. Keighley +7

Old Rish v Hullensians - Rish struggling so far and Hullensians resurgent compared to last season, again confidence could play a major factor. Rish were well in the contest against us last week until we took the game away from them in the last 20 so expect them to put up a good performance at home. Hullensians to have the edge though, Hull -7

Wensleydale v Pythons - Dale always a tough place to play and they always seem to put in a good performance against us. We're in no doubt that the last 2 results mean nothing going into this game and we'll have to be at our best to get a win. Hopefully conditions a bit kinder than last year's gale force winds!

West Leeds v Wath - West Leeds struggling badly so far and Wath making a very solid start. Unless there's a massive turnaround from the last 2 weeks I can't see anything other than an away win. Wath +7

First time poster, so go easy on me  :)

Beverley v Pock - encouraging start to the season for Pock, strong pack and the backs firing well. Closer than our first two games, but Pock to win.

Brid v North Ribb - North Ribb to carry on with their great start and shade this one.

Leos v Keighley - With Browny still marshalling the troops and a few new lads (1 ex Keighley Cougar) Keighley to win.

Old Rish v Hull - can't see anything but a Hull win here.

Dale v Pythons - home advantage will see Dale over the line.

West Leeds v Wath - West Leeds were very competitive in the first half last week against Pock, if they play like that for the full 80 they'll have a chance, but I think Wath will win.

Beverley v Pocklington - Derby day down at Beaver Park! Bev will be up licking their wounds from the last two games but form goes out the window with games like this. No prima donna's in this Pock side so they will be expecting a tough 80 even after last weeks result. Pock -7

Bridlington v North Ribb - Going to be a close one here. Brid having to pick themselves up from an embarrassing defeat at Keighley they will be looking to get back to winning ways. Ribb have (settle)d nicely into Y1 with some impressive wins home and away. Can they overcome this huge hurdle? i think so. Ribb -7

Leodiensian's v Keighley - Unless someone has waved their magic wand over at Crag lane i only see this as one way traffic. Keighley +7

Old Rish v Hull - Speaking to a friend over at Old Brodleians and apparently its touch down for a few more of their overseas players. However, cant see them making that much of an impact this early on and with Hull being impressive in the first two games the win has to go to them for me. Ensians +7

Dale v Pyttthhhhon's – Hopefully Dale have cleared any dog faeces up for this match after our hooker nearly had a mucky nose after a scrum collapse. Pytthhon’s to give it a good go here and im going to back them despite Dale being a hard place to collect a win.

West Leeds v Wath – Great first 40 from the west lads but just seemed to burn out in the second half. According to their boys they have a few players coming back so will make for a tight game with Wath impressing just like Ribb in Y1. Leeds -7

I don’t usually like to make predictions on our own games but always back yourselves.

Obviously off to Leo's to hopefully watch Keighley make it three out of three

Pre match pit stop at the Mean wood Brewery Tap in Adel for a couple of Birthday weekend 'refreshments ' as well .

Match report may be a tad hazy 😂

Wensleydale 5 - Pythons 41
Leos 8 - 23 Keighley
Beverley 16 - 23 Pocklington
West Leeds 20 - 30 Wath
Old Rish 28 - 50 Hullensians
Bridlington 31 - 35 North Ribb

6 away wins out of 6! Don’t see that very often. Definitely some surprise starts to the season there at the top and the bottom.

Wheels are falling off at Wensleydale by the looks.

There’s always been a big gulf in quality between the Dale forwards and backs. If you can front up to them in the scrum and stop their maul then they don’t have much of a plan B. In this league there’s quality packs that can match up to Dale and then take them apart in the backs. The weather getting worse will favour Dale and their home form should see them alright in the end, a lot will depend on how much they can get their 2 and 8 on the field.

Todays game against Dale was a scrappy affair to start with but we grew into the game and took our chances well. It was very similar at times to the reverse fixture last year as we gave away far too many penalties and gave Dale great attacking ball. Difference was that this time we stopped their maul and then went up field and converted our chances. 2nd half we felt we left some tries out there but finished strong with 3 more scores.

I think we’ve learnt what it means to play in this league now. 2 promotions in 2 years caught up with us last season and we weren’t ready for the increased physicality, fitness and organisation we were coming up against. The players have worked their knackers off though and it’s paid off so far, already matched last seasons amount of wins in just 3 rounds. Lots of hard work ahead we are sure and there’s a lot of good teams left to play. Certainly a very competitive league though.

what a day at the very welcoming Bridlington. It started with our bus breaking down and a 90 minute late departure on a replacement. The York bypass was bumper to bumper and caused another 30 minute delay, We delayed the ko by thirty minutes and after a 20 minute warm up we found ourselves, not surprisingly, 12 -0 down in ten minutes. We slowly got into the game but were 18 -7 down at the interval. Our young winger then scored immediately 18-14. Brid then kicked one of many pens and a converted try 28-14. Two lively converted tries brought us level at 28-28 with five to go and then Brid got another penalty  to sneak in front 31-28. We kept the ball alive at every opportunity and scored a converted try at the death to claim a well deserved bonus point win. This was a potential banana skin game due to one of the lads getting married and eight changes from last week. The team managers will have some headaches this week with several senior players returning from wedding duty/

League table already taking shape…? Few surprises in there especially our local rivals Ensians looking strong and recruited well.

Think Pock came to Beverley thinking they would go home with 5 points it was very nearly only 2! With huge Beverley pressure who had a try held up over the line for a draw last play of the game. Wasn’t to be and probably deserved a draw to be honest. Pock will need to play better if they have any hopes of going up…. Good local rivalry and they had the ref on there side too. See you in December.
