iHOPE ALL YOU CLUBS HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO VOTE AGAINST THE LATEST SKULLDUGGERY TO GET SECOND TEAMS INTO THE LEAGUE STRUCTIRE. YOU ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS LEFT TO DO SO. BY NOT VOTING YOU ARE HASTENING THE DEMISE OF GRASS ROOTS CLUBS, WHICH LETS BE HONEST IS WHERE WE ALL BEGAN.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

It appears that the vote is going to be close. So all you clubs who have not voted so far, get your skates on and vote this down by saying no to,
 1)More Travel
2) Decreased sustainability for most clubs.
3) Higher travel expenses
4) Larger clubs hoovering up your players and accelerating your demise.

If you dont vote against it its like Turkeys voting for Christmas.

You could also read how none of the above have affected NLD leagues since the introduction of 2nd XV. Actually had the opposite effect.
But the age old saying “don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story” when you’re trying to make a one sided argument.

You don’t know that any of the above will be true for our region, it’s purely your personal opinion. (And that of a few like minded gents)

So let people make their own informed decisions rather than spouting your opinions as being facts.
It’s getting a little boring.

2 sides to this conversation and anyone who dares to speak out differently gets bombarded with Southern league walkover numbers from the first 4 games, or how the money men of Nat 2 are going rape and pillage the low leagues for their Crown Jewels.

Differ my old boy
you seem to have a myopic view of this as Driffield are obviously in a sweet spot at the moment. It may bore you that I have an opinion. Your opinion is also boring and you keep spouting on the reverse side. Surely you cannot be so blind as to see the implications for local rugby clubs. I appreciate you have your "Driff goggles on " but please think of the bigger picture rather than just Driffield who have always been a good rugby club.

I’ve said on multiple occasions that I understand the potential implications this could have for Clubs in the region.
Also appreciate that it may not potentially improve travel in the long term due to the geographical split of Yorkshire.

Yes it would benefit Driffield, and with my Driffield goggles on it’s a no brainer.

However taking them off, the game we all love is in decline. Players aren’t as committed as they once were. We need to see change.
Im in favour of new ideas that are trying to benefit the game. Even the ridiculous mess that is the cup competitions is trying improve the game, badly executed but it’s something that has given multiple clubs a day to remember now, more so then an extra couple of league fixtures.

I’m an advocate for change. If managed correctly.

The issue for me isn’t 2nd XVs entering the leagues, the issue is making sure it’s managed correctly for the benefit of the game in our county.
