No surprises there.
Did think Huddersfield would take Blaydon close.

As for York they managed to dig a win out of what looked like was going to be defeat with less than 10 minutes to go.
Driff came out of the blocks early and rocked York.
York having a couple of yellow cards in the first 20 minutes, which could have cost the the game. Their goal line defense kept them in touch, but only just
There was an unusual  breeze at CP today blowing from the clubhouse end, which Driffield enjoyed the benefit of in the first half.
Then towards half time the heavens opened and the game became very scrappy.
Driff turned round 15-10 up at half time. They then  started well again in the second half putting pretty intense pressure on the York line again. But York held firm.
York then started to dominate field position but everything they attempted was thwarted by their own poor handling or good Driff defense.
But eventually York strung a few phases together, the ball stuck for a change and they were level.
With 2 minutes to go a superb touch find from a Shackleton penalty to the corner put York within 5 of the Driff line. A well executed catch and drive saw them cross for a bonus point win.
York probably did enough to shade it on the day. But I suspect many of the York supporters would have settled for the draw, with 10 to go.

Can’t disagree with much of DAA review. Was a close game throughout. 2 yellows for York in the first half and almost 2 identical Yellows for Driffield in the second half.

Felt York got the rub of the green for a couple of scores. Winger infront of the kicker for cross field kick scored in the first half and the throw for the final try being closer to the half way line then the middle of the lineout. That being said, York had to execute and finish both tries which they did brilliant. They sometimes go for you and sometimes go against you.

Great game, felt a draw would have been a fair result in the end. But yet another game on the road lost at the death for Driffield.

Watched Blaydon Hudds today. Wasn’t the greatest.

Some early changes in the Blaydon side and a hudds team trying to get some form.

My take is, hudds are simmering and will be there or there abouts. Blaydon aren’t quite the team they were last year but have some talented players like Clarke even though he was out of position today.
