Surely you must all know as a circular should have been sent to ALL Yorkshire clubs. If your club has not received it you should email Dawn Rathmell at YRFU without delay.
Basically for those that are unaware the RFU have asked Yorkshire to conduct a survey and a vote on clubs wanting to enter their second teams into the league structure. Clubs such as Wharfedale, Driffield, Middlesborough et al have already voted in favour. For some bizarre reason it needs 66% of clubs to vote against it to thwart yet another attempt by the county senior clubs to grease their own palms at the expense of the clubs in the lower echelons of the pyramid. So far only a handful of clubs have voted against the motion and if the ones that havent voted fail to do so then I fear that many clubs in fairly close proximity to higher level clubs will lose star young players to the big boys.
I know this has been an issue for many years, but, with playing numbers in decline I firmly believe it will hasten the demise of many clubs currently struggling with player participation.
Therefore all clubs who fear the worst MUST cast their vote against this proposal. Apathy by not voting may bring about your demise.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
