Noting Money Talks' comment about charity day at Bev in "fancy kit", hope valuable sponsorship money hasn't been spent on massaging egos by buying special kit? Kind of goes against the principles of raising money for charity and not incurring unnecessary expenses in the process. Sorry I used to work for Oxfam...

Couple of vital wins in there for a few teams and a full round of home wins. To me it looks like there’s going to be a clear top 3 this season (maybe 4 depending on Hullensians) and then below that could be a free for all.

Much improved performance on the last 2 weeks from Pythons today and it’s frustrating to have come away with nothing at all. It was a very even match on the whole but the difference was that Pock took their chances when they got them and we didn’t. 3 or 4 spells of position in Pock’s 22 in the 1st half were wasted due to a combination of our errors and solid Pock defence. You have to convert field position into points though and we didn’t. Plenty of positives to take away though.

Ribb were on fire for most of the game yesterday against a Hull side that were quite rightly fairly confident beforehand. We had a strong side out and had the bonus point secured within the half hour. We were too good when we had the ball in hand which I feel the score reflects. Ensians to their absolute credit stuck to their task and scored a couple of late tries to get a bonus point that reflected their efforts having made the long trek from the East coast.
A good day all round for us and we now look forward to a big game at Keighley in two weeks time. It should be a cracking "Derby" with, I expect a bumper crowd.

Thanks for your comments locked out.

No, the second men’s day was in aid of men’s mental health which is now an annual event to raise funds for local charities to keep doing what they are doing. The ‘fancy kit’ was donated by a local clothing supplier then shirts was auctioned to family and friends after the game to raise money for charity.

18 local lads on the pitch yesterday, far from the finished article but we can build on some performances this year and still show we can mix it with the best in the league. 40-13 at one point against Keighley who have looked unbeatable so far this season. Thought I was going to be optimistic with a +7 prediction…

MT - sounds a splendid way of raisin money and awareness for a good cause and encouraging community spirit and grassroots rugby. Winner all round by the looks.
