Some interesting fixtures this weekend

Driff v Blaydon

This could be a free flowing open game that should be close. Blaydon not brilliant on the road and Driff always had to beat at home. High scoring home win.

Heath v York

York have come away empty handed from Heath for a number of seasons now. They have been well beaten both on the scoreboard and physically   My heart would like to say this will change this weekend but my head says it won’t. I do not like predicting against my team, but unless York have their best game of the season to date, I am worried it will be more of the same. Home win  unfortunately. Nothing would please me more than to be proved wrong!!

Huddersfield v Cleck

Although Cleck have the game to trouble Huddersfield, I think they Hudds, are gathering some momentum. So home win here I suspect.

Ilkley v Selby

Could be the closest game this weekend in my opinion. But that will depend largely on which Ilkley side turns up. If they are on it , close home win. Otherwise Selby by a clear score.

PP v Scunny

Could this be a decent test for the current league leaders? I think it will be. But not sure PP have shown that they have enough in the locker, to beat a confident Scunny team. Away win but not by a boat load.

Sandal v Alnwick

This is I think the easiest to predict this week. A comfortable home win for Sandal.

Driffield v Blaydon - concur with DAA. High-scoring home win. ( here comes 10-9 ! )

Heath v York - as opposed to the above match, a low-scoring home win ( or 36-28 ! )

Huddersfield v Cleck - I’d fancy Cleck at home, but they aren’t, so a comfortable home win.

Ilkley v Selby - whatever the result, it won’t be comfortable. Ilkley need this more than Selby and should squeak home.

Percy Park v Scunthorpe - Scunny clear favourites to win the league at this stage and I think they’ll win here.

Sandal v Alnwick - can’t see the Northumbrians getting anything from this. Comfortable home win.

Driffield vs Blaydon - Comfortable home win here. Can't see any other result unless a rash red card.

Heath vs York - I have a sneaky suspicion York will match these guys upfront and will have learnt from the Huddersfield game. Heath on a bit of a decline and ageing like milk sat in 8th. No real pace in the team either and I think York will exploit the orcs and win with a bonus point.

Huddersfield vs Cleckheaton - Would assume this will be a tasty local game with plenty watching, Huddersfield to win comfortably.

Ilkley vs Selby - With the style of Rugby we play and what I know of Ilkley, it'll come down to who can execute better and make less mistakes when chucking it around. Bit of self belief - 5 points for Selby and Ilkley to walk away with 2 bonus points.

Percy Park vs Scunthorpe - 3 hours up the A1 with some matchday and roadwork traffic might be the only items in Percy Parks basket of tricks. Have to look at a Scunthorpe BP win.

Sandal vs Alnwick - I would argue the most nailed on result today with Sandal running away with this. BP win Sandal.

Heath Vs York
Well the battle of the forwards will be in full flow! And no doubt Heath will be up for this in a hope they can kick on. York look to of tried to tighten up the defence, and this will be a big test. No where to hide on the tiny pitch.
York Win

Huddersfield vs Cleckheaton
Derby weekend will certainly get the Cleckheaton lads up for this one. Clecks new hooker will no doubt be looking forward to returning to Lockwood Park. But think Huddersfield are starting to tick over now.
Huddersfield win

Ilkley vs Selby
A win for either side would be a massive boost. Would think Ilkley at home will be able to pull this off. But think it will be a tight affair
Ilkley Win

Percy Park vs Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe have already come through some tough tests on the road this season, and this will no doubt be another one. Scunthorpe looking like they will take some
Stopping.
Scunthorpe Win

Sandal vs Alnwick
2 teams who are probably abit surprised with current league positions. Think if Sandal sniff blood this could be a long journey home for Alnwick.
Sandal Win

Driffield vs Blaydon
Couple of great games last season with Blaydon. Exciting games to watch played in good spirits. So more of the same would be great.
Driffield lads will feel like they have a point to prove after last weekend.
Driffield Win

Entertaining game at Stacks Field this afternoon, with 11 tries. Pretty close till the last quarter when the Dalesmen went up a gear. Selby very much worth their try bonus point and good luck to them for the rest of this season.

Final score 52.27 and an unusual clean sweep on the predictions. Made the beer taste even better.

York away next week… could be a belter.
