Already 4 walk overs in the Yorkshire Shield Round 1

Are clubs actually interested in cup comps until Semi Finals? With a slight sniff of winning some silverware.

Anyway, predictions for the remaining games.

Hullensians vs Acklam - Ensians to bounce back here (if Acklam travel) suppose they will want a bit of a cup run in a comp they feel like they could win. +20 Ensians

Wath vs Wensleydale - Don't suppose Dale will be travelling with everyone available, again another home win. +7 Wath

West Leeds vs Beverley - Backing our boys here as we are taking the cup seriously! Chance for people knocking on the door to get a jersey. -7 Beverley

Yarnbury vs Roundhegians - No idea!

I have heard on the grapevine that Hegians are considering conceding. Yarnbury are sending a weakened side. I may be doing Hegians a disservice but the information came from one of the clubs involved. If the match goes ahead, my apologies.

Redcar conceded to Ripon, so Rugrats looking for a friendly.

Acklam have named a squad so assume that fixture is going ahead. Wensleydale have given Wath a walkover but their 2's have got a side out. Beverley have named a team so assume that fixture is going ahead. Can't see anything from Yarnbury or Roundhegians about their game so who knows. Roundhegians have got a 2's side coming across to Pythons 2's so fingers crossed they have two teams out.

Thanks to massive efforts of club officials and inter club collaboration, Ripon are managing two "A" XVs tomorrow, one versus Harrogate Georgians and one v Pocklington 2nds. Not sure what Pock 1sts are doing but hope the game is entered into in the same spirit. Great to get rugby for 72 players out of nowhere.
