This weekends fixtures throw up some interesting fixtures which will be tough to call.
Alnwick v Huddersfield
Alnwick are in need of a win to get their season up and running. But this won’t be their week in my view. Huddersfield have found their feet and building some momentum. So away win here.
Blaydon v Heath
Ordinarily this would be a very tough one to call. But I am told Heath had more than their share of the luck to get past York last week.
Blaydon scrum were poor against York but their line out was very good. So I think referee will decide this. If he lets Heath dominate the scrum with their well versed dark arts, then Johnson probably have enough ball and field position to sneak an away win. If not, then Blaydon’s expansive game will see them home. Close home win for me.
Cleck v Driffield
Cleck at home are a different animal to when on the road.
Driff can take anyone close and I am sure they will take Cleck all the way, but I can’t see past a very close home win here.
Scunny v Sandal
Scunny seem untouchable at the moment and on their home turf, I can’t see anything other than a tough day for Sandal.
Sandal may turn up and it would be good to see them stay in it. But home win all day.
Selby v PP
Selby are finding out just how hard it is to survive in this league. They have to win games against teams around them, particularly at home.
PP took a hammering last week and will be hoping to bounce back tomorrow. But I can’t see anything other than a 5 point home win for the tiny minster men here.
York v Ilkley
Yorks performance last week at Heath, left a lot of the Yorks traveling support wondering how they lost. Signs of York regaining there mojo?
Ilkley had an impressive home win over the indifferent Selby so will arrive at Clifton Park confident that they can build on their win.
I think it will be a close game until half time, but surely York will ignite sooner than later and then capitalize?
5 point home win for me
