Thankfully back to the order and consistency of league rugby with hopefully everyone able to raise a team of sorts and what's not to love about 2.15 kick offs and extra drinking time?

Bramley Phoenix v Huddersfield Laund Hill
Halifax Vandals v Bradford & Bingley
Northallerton v Ossett
Roundhegans v Dinnington
Ripon v Baildon
Hemsworth v Yarnbury

Big Apple v Laundromats: If there's a place in the league structure for hapless Huddersfield to start making a comeback, it's not here, with the Fortress Warrels massive bigging up the big apples to a resounding home win. Phoenix +7

Hooligans v Bed & Brekkies: Another tough gig like the above, Mount Doom difficult to get an away result at the best of times and with the Orcs on current form, the B's to get a spanking. Vandals +7

Old Farmers v Mood Hoovers: Will the county set get onto the leader board with their first win of the season today, or will they just continue to rack up the bonus points without actually winning a game? Head says no but heart says North -7

Snoozers v Dunno: The juggernaut keeps on rolling along crushing everyone and everything in its path. Hegians surprisingly no match either. Dinno +7

Rugrats v Ca$h Cow$: Back on home turf and giddy with excitement about bonfire night coming up, the kids will recover form and excite the big crowd expected to turn up for the pre-match curry lunch. Could be a windy afternoon. Ripon +7

Excuses r Us v Planespotters: Despite home advantage and a few passers by to rope into playing, Hapless Hems won't have enough in the tank for the runanway visitors. Yawno +7

If anyone had said ten years ago at Wagon Lane. that the Bees would be playing the progressive Vandals in a league game, I am sure the hierarchy at Bees would have guffawed it as "Too much drink old chap". Well it becomes a reality this weekend and a team that was at level three and a team that was at level 10 now meet in a league fixture at level 8.
For what its worth I think that Vandals will prevail to expose the limitations of an average bunch of mercenaries who care more about their envelopes than they do the club they are playing for. Playing for the badge can be a powerful motivator when you are preceived as a minion by supposed "Big Dogs of yesteryear"
Lets see. Come on Vandals!!!!!!!!

Apologies for the radio silence Locked, life circumstances keeping me otherwise engaged!

Big Apple vs Big $penders
Huddersfield B's determined to stop the rot with some sensible spending, that's always worked so well in the past... Bramley's fortress and partisan crowd will be a shock to the system from the loft heights of the national leagues and SL! Bramley +7

Orcs vs Boom & Bust
Vandals the people's favourites in what will surely be their 'cup final' against such lorded opposition. Bees found their level (finally) and vandals taking well to Y2 rugby. Vandals +7

Smoggies vs Dysons
Bosset will be relishing the prospect of a win on the road and an active weekend of forum activity as North seem keen to get back to the comforts of Y3 as quick as possible. Ossett +7

Snoozers vs League Winners
Dinno looking to focus on their league campaign early on by withdrawing from the Yorks Shield and extend their winning run. Can't see the North Leeds outfit being the side to stop them. Dinno +7

Rugrats vs Bad Boy Chiller Crew
Dux and his merry band of men looking to cause Mischief at Mallorie Park (possible title for the match report?). A Baildon win would certainly keep the league exciting but the Ripon crowd and their one-eyed touch judge will have enough to secure a win and keep things tight at the top. Riiiiiipp -7

Home Birds vs Jet Setters
Hemsworth players clearly under a strict curfew with their 'home only' policy. I don't think the weather will have done enough to slow down the highest scoring (but boring) team in the league. Any rugby outside the 10 channel away from the 8 props should be enough for an away win. Yarnbury +7

Dr Ruck,
I appreciate your jovial comments in your predictions, but, your description of the Bees as "Boom and Bust" is surely incorrect. "Bust and Bust" would surely be a more accurate interpretation of the mis-management of a once mighty club in our county. The "Brown Envelope" policy has seen their demise by five levels.
Comments Please.

A welcome return to the Doc, you've been sadly missed.

As a gesture to celebrate the return of the Prodigal Son, and the slaying of a fatted calf potentially offending one of our vegan contributors, I am offering a "new customer bonus" of 200 points to Doc and leveling up those with lower scores to that amount.   So LA Love and Shiny will be upped to 200.

Happy predicting everyone!

Best get your reply in sharpish Doc, or you'll be hounded mercilessly. Thank heavens you weren't around for the second team league entry debate!

Surely by your own description of Bees as a 'once mighty club' would infer they had a 'boom', besides which Bust & Bust just doesn't sound as good nor does it fit as well with their name as it isn't repeated but it does still have alliteration. If I have to explain my playful titles every week I might have to start charging those who aren't sharp enough to grasp it!

I do hope you aren't getting the bends with having to jump between pages to interact with us plebs in the doldrums of Y2 from the heights of Y1

Some of you really have hard ons for the bees. I’d argue there’s less mercenaries there these days than the likes of North Rib
