League Action Returns :

Harrogate Pythons vs Wath Upon Dearne - 2 teams who started great guns but dropped off slighly. Pythons on home soil to take this one. +7 Pythons

Hullensians vs Pocklington- Local derby, Ensians is no easy place to go. Noticed they rested a lot on Saturday in Yorks Shield. I am going -7 Ensians

Keighley vs North Ribblesdale - Game of the day - Keighley no easy place to go, only beaten by Cash spenders Salem at home in last 4 years and that form stacks up this season. Ribb on a role and if anyone can beat them it's them. I would suggest Keighley need this one to keep tabs on Ribb. -7 Keighley

Leodiensian vs Beverley - Bev on a roll since blip at Ensians. Starting to put some performances together. Players rested on the weekend so full working order to Leo's on Saturday with a fair number of travelling fans. +7 Bev

Old Rishworthian vs West Leeds - 2 teams at the bottom. Rish will have too much out wide for WL. +7 Rish
Wensleydale vs Bridlington - Long old way for Brid. This could be a tough one. +7 Dale

I think the Wath big boys will shade this Wath -7
Pock too strong just. Pock +7
Massive game for us,  Keighley only beaten once at home in four years but have to back our, on fire, team Ribb +7
Bev to continue their revival Bev +7
Think Rish are struggling and West Leeds slowly getting some sort of form. W.Leeds -7

Harrogate Pythons vs Wath Upon Dearne - Pythons have a big enough pack to deal with Wath, should also have to much out wide. Home win.

Hullensians vs Pocklington- Pocklington to win here, think Hullensians will struggle upfront.

Keighley vs North Ribblesdale - North Rib to win here, think Keighley aren't as good as previous years and have probably found their level.

Leodiensian vs Beverley - Bev should romp home here.

Old Rishworthian vs West Leeds - West Leeds seems to have picked up some better results recently, think they should win here.

Wensleydale vs Bridlington - Big win for Dale.

Harrogate Pythons vs Wath - 2 very competitive games when we faced each other in Y2 a couple of years ago. We know what Wath will bring so our pack will have to front up and tighten up our discipline if we want to return to winning ways. Always back yourselves though Pythons +7

Hullensians vs Pocklington - very interesting game, arguably a must win for both teams if they are wanting to push their top 2 credentials. For me I think Pock should go in slight favourites given their record so far. Going for a close away win with both sides scoring BP tries. Pock -7

Keighley vs North Ribb - Keighley's home record speaks for itself but they haven't been putting some teams away in the manner you'd expect so far and obviously lost last time out at Beverley. For me North Ribb don't have any real weaknesses and the artificial surface may actually suit their backline plus they have a pack that can front up as well. I'm going for a close away win. Ribb -7

Leos vs Beverley - if Beverley travel with a full compliment then I think it will be a comfortable away win. Bev +7

Old Rish vs West Leeds - basement battle with both teams seeming to improve in recent weeks. Huge game for both but I think the new coach boost and home advantage could tip the scales in Rish's favour. Rish -7

Wensleydale vs Bridlington - given Dale have recovered a little bit from a poor start and Brid haven't travelled well I'll go for Dale +7

Pythons v Wath: Mid-table clash, suspect Pythons will want it more at home - just. Pythons - 7

'Ensians v Pock: Pock pushing for promotion so a tough gig for both but think an away win. Pock -7

Leos v Bev: More mid-table mediocrity and think Leos will manage the home turf better while Bev are still on the bus for the first half. Leos +7

Rich v Poor: Battle of the bottom feeders and who can afford to avoid the drop better. Think Rish will edge it -7

'Dale v Brid: Sheep sha**ers almost in last chance saloon here and torn between welcoming old friends and rival back into Y2 (and less traveling) and gaining a trip to the seaside to the season's joys. Dale -7

Keefleh v Ribb: If there was a spot on national TV, this would take it. Airedale's hard grafting home grown talent v Ribb's international ensemble. Will the magic carpet stop the Ribb juggernaut's march to national leagues? Nope, Keighley -7

Mr Locked,
no juggernauts in Settle. But we do have an international couple of lads. But we are still locally based and lads wanting to play at Ribb.
Good luck tomorrow.

No game for wetherby this weekend so heading down the M62 to watch my old club Hullensians in what should be a tasty fixture against Pock (who were my pre season fav to win Y1 this season)

Looking forward to the game and will try to give you all an impatial feedback from the game enjoy.

My money is on a close game with the side that takes the most 3 points on offer winning

Great game at Hullensians today, a red card within 5 minutes and plenty of changes in the squad with second team players filling in, it didn’t unsettle the boys at all. Controlled the game very well, maybe we should play with 14 every week!
Amazing how many brown envelopes are being chucked about at this standard…

Maddeningly close for Pythons, squeaky bum time for Ribb by the looks and a massive get of of jail for the Dalesmen. Is that where the brown envelopes have been splashed, or did Brid stay on the bus?

Fantastic game at Keighley today with two good sides going  hammer and tong against each other. In front of a bumper crowd of, imo, 700 plus . Ribb tried to go for the corner several times but could not score. Alex Brown dropped a goal with two minutes left to put the hosts a point in front. Ribb then got a penalty at the death and kicked it from the half way line. Phew, what a game , and it was everything that is good in local sport. Two good rugby clubs with nothing between them. Played in good spirit and enjoyed by many.
Great day for the Ribb supporters.

Watched the Hullensians Pock game, first 10-15 minutes looked a good contest, if anything Hullensians looked to be slightly edging it. Then Pock got a player sent off, shortly afterwards followed by a scrum were their 7 men pushed the hullensians 8 men off the ball which seemed to wake Pock up to the idea of going 10 man style rugby. From then on it was pretty much one way traffic. Pock reverted to playing a very forward orientated game and dominated every facet of the forward game, scrum, lineout, and ruck. Fantastic way to manage playing with 14 men if you have the forwards to do it and in my oppinion Pock looked a far better side playing this style then they had in the first 10-15 minutes when they were playing a bit wider.

When hullensians did occasionally get the ball they looked like they would be dangerous accross the backs but more often than not failed to get through the phases to release them due to them lacking support at the breakdown and Pock winning the ruck to get possesion back.

Good luck to both sides for the rest of the season.

My Apologies to Keighley
I should have said that we were very well received by them. They can expect the same on the reverse fixture in February.
