Fair game at Ribb yesterday in which we prevailed but not after being put under some pressure from Leos when their backs had the ball. We appeared a little under par but still scored seven converted tries which I think is a measure  of what the squad has come to expect of itself. Leos stuck to their task well and at one stage got back to 35 - 26 but we pulled away with two well worked scores to finish winners by 49 - 26.
We will need to play better I am sure in some future games but a bonus point win is the most you can get from a game. Thanks to Leos for being gracious in defeat and I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Onto O.Rishies next week.

Couldn't tell you much about Pythons game yesterday as I was with the 2's and the 1's forgot the Veo camera. From what I hear it was quite a scrappy first half but Pythons got their act together in the 2nd half to come back from 18-13 down and get an important BP win. It's not looking good for Old Rish, with North Ribb and Pock next up they look set to be bottom at the half way point.

Old Rish always been a decent club they will find their level. if they go down they wont be the first or last. Sometimes is tough thats why you should enjoy the good times as we all know its not forever.

I fondly remember going to Rish as a 16 year old in the Ribb third team. When we got there the second team pitch was under water so unplayable. Us third teamers proceeded to have a game of three card brag with our counterparts and I was delivered three Queens in the same hand as a Rish player got three twos. Needless to say I went to the limit and won the hand and a very handsome £40 pot. That was in 1977 and was a big win at the time for a skint teenager. No card games when we visit this week but I am sure the hospitality will be on a par with that some 47 years ago.
