Sail By,
welcomor away.e back after a self imposed exile. I fully take your point but would it be too much to ask the button pressers at the RFU who run the fixture programmes to ensure that on key dates (such as 21st Dec) that there were local games which would ensure maximun revenue and therefore help in clubs sustainability. I know its an impossible ask as they simply dont care and have all got ZERO geographical knowledge of where any clubs are in relation to each other.
For the clubs in NE2 on the 21st how about this for a set of games, irrespective of who is at home,
Malton v Scarbs
Rochdale v Crocs
Salem v Brods
Weth v Moortown
Morley v Ponte
Goole v Phoenix
Those games would make a much better point for your argument rather than the travelling that the current fixtures involve. PLEASE when can we ever expect the powers that be start to support the clubs in terms of increased revenue. After all four years ago clubs got about £400 towards travel to a long away fixture when buses cost about £500. Now they nothing and the same buses cost approx £900. Where do these people think that community clubs get that sort of money from. They have their heads buried in the sand and will simply not listen to reason. Its their way or no way. The bubble will eventually burst when our county has lost maybe another 15 clubs in the next 10 years. Do they really care. I personally think not as they are too full of their own corporate opinions to listen to sense.
Rant over. Opinions please
