Thorne 44 Rotherham Phoenix 31.

Thorne had bare 15 as lot of people unavailable. Good game played in good spirit but rotherham 16 was a bit of an full-back. Game marred by 2 injuries to Rotherham players

What was the score batman, from my understanding WH 2s have some peoples with 1st XV experience too is  that correct ?

You will find most 2nd teams have players with 1st team experience!!!!

I don't think any of the Dinno 2nd XV yesterday have played 1st XV recently, apart from one or two of the older lads who have come out of retirement for a run out.

Name names???

I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 who might have been asked to make the 1st XV squad numbers up over the last couple of years, and of those only 1 that might have played some 1st XV over the last few years, although not a regular 1st XV player at all.

Wetherby only managed to take 12/13 across to Ilkley who gave them a player or two to help with the game.  Still waiting on a few lads to come back.

Was supposed to have 19 in the squad but 6/7 lads let us down on the day!

What's confusing me is the ruling on the increase in numbers & rolling subs!!!

Some other posts seem to be indicating that ref's aren't allowing this and sticking to the 3 limited subs rule, unless I'm reading it wrong?

If ref's are calling this then the YRFU need to get their finger out and sort it.

We thought it was rolling subs, got to the game with a number of subs only to be told we had to name 3 subs and they weren't rolling subs, what did everyone else do

Would suggest all teams at Level 9, 10 & 11 and merit league/2nd teams print off the post from Fredsbar and stick it under the ref's hooter.

It's a clear ruling which is now effective and it's lancashire if a team has included the extra subs to then be told they can't play.

Thanks Wrufc. The Referees Society has a copy of the rules and regulations. For all matches played in the second XV League/Merit Table competition up to 5 rolling subs can be used.

Here you go, lifted from the rolling replacements post;

Yorkshire League/Merit Table Matches - Premier, Championship, East Premier, 1 & 2, Aire Wharfe 1 & 2,Central/North 1 & 2 & Combined Merit, South 1 & Merit Table Rules

•   Replacements
In all League & Merit Table matches up to a maximum of 5 players may be named as replacements and players will be allowed to ‘roll on and roll off’ on an unlimited basis, to hopefully maintain 15 players a side on the field of play at all times, other than when the game has moved to uncontested scrums where the side causing the uncontested scrums plays with I player fewer.
There is no compulsion to have 5 replacements and sides do not have to have equal numbers of replacements.
Replacements will be made, with the referees permission, at stoppages of play other than at penalty and free kick situations, to make sure that a replacement doesn`t come on to the field of play simply to take a kick at goal and then be replaced again.
The requirement to have one replacement front row player within the squad is still necessary, so that at the first time of asking a side can replace a front row player in order that the game carries on with contested scrums.
Team captains must inform the referee before the commencement of the match the number of replacements to be used.
