Wow, I find it surprising that only our game was called off today due to a frozen pitch. But lets not speculate!

Was a bit frozen this morning, about 7.30am, so depends when they checked the pitch. ;-)

We had a game called off at theirs last year due to froxen pitch - it is a bit out in the open. Still, I agree there could have been some tactics in calling it off!

See you next week Youngster!

When our game was called off last season they phoned us to say the pitch was frozen in the morning, but we said we would travel anyway and see how it was by 1. Did Wath not have the choice to do that?

I was messaged at 11.30 to say it was cancelled so not too sure when they contacted, I cant imagine it being too sooner that.

I may well be seeing you next week dude depends who I get picked for, and yeah my thoughts exactly, strange many Leeds based area games still went ahead

A mate of mine plays for Leo's and told me on Wednesday that they had 8 players missing. That should give you your answer. I'm sure the league will be looking at it.

Utter garbage. The Leos 1st XV turned up at Yarnbury yesterday to watch the game against West Park - it was a strong Leos team including Henry,Wainwright, capt Robinson etc. They even brought Ian Kirke with them!

Apparently Wath were told mid morning that an area of the pitch beneath the trees was frozen, but if they wished to travel up,it may have improved by the afternoon.Wath elected not to travel, perhaps because they were missing Hardcastle and Bray?!

and more utter garbage.

I took the call, we were not offered to travel as we were told that Leo's opinion was that the pitch was unplayable. I asked for the option to go up and assess. Remember, if one team refuses to play, the other has no option.

How many other games were called off?

Secondly We have played without Hardcastle and Bray for numerous weeks, we have a lot of strength in depth and 2 players dont make a team.

Now for Leo's it would seem 8 players would.

And trust me if it would have been just one area of the pitch that was frozen and not all of it, we would have played but we wasn't given the option and we certainly were not travelling off our own back just to be told the same thing when we got there, that they didnt want to play.

I heard it was 5 lads not 8.  But moortown 2nd team game was cancelled due to been frozen. Which in leos defence is about half a mile away. Think we all know leos are under the pump a bit at min. They've taken advantage a little bit and got away with it. let's see if it makes a difference in end

If Moortown's 2nds were also called off it makes it easier to believe that Leos pitch was frozen!
