Why are Ponte not good enough !!?

How come theres such a difference between Ponte and Driff to gain promotion from their dissmal season before, are Ponte that bad ??
Nearly everyone has Driff to win week in week out and pushing for promotion, and `once highly placed in the NE1` Ponte are just mid table and destend for another season in Y1 !!?
Plus being in the same league as Knott`la !!!!
Can things get worse for them, will Knott`la step out of thier shadow of past decades, and beat them at thier own place  ;)

I would suggest that Pontefract aren't at the level that they have been at over the last few years simply due to an ageing team and not enough high quality replacements. Over the last few years they have had a very good close knit group that have played well and been competeing in a good league, however ageing players led to decline in performance led to relegation and decent players leaving. It hasnt helped that there's is no consistent youth setup and that most of the players from the youth teams have gone to university leaving the potential picking slim. Its no huge reason just one that might take a couple of years to rectify, theres still a great coach some good players and a loyal committee. No different from any other club really.

Many clubs cite players going to uni but some clubs must have some inward benefit from students?!?

i didn't realise that only ponte had these issue's...... how will they survive  ??? and knottla do send their young aspiring charges to uni for example our club chairman Mr Andy "Mr Pig" Beach did a 3 year course in bird nesting and ferret wrestling, long time club stalwart kev parson completed a "5" year uni course on public relations and communications and club captain carl clayton, as i understand it is still studying his course "horse development" (whatever that is ?)

Espeically sat the the one eye Ponte lot.
Everytime Knott`la got the ball there were crys for `off side, knock on, forward pass` at one point not to feel left out I shouted `anything ref`  ;D
