Congratulations to Barnsley and Wath on promotion.

I think both will sit quite comfortably in mid table in Y1, minimum. I also think West Park, Hull, Selby and Salem would be ok in Y1.

Its been a very enjoyable season, the first in Y2 for a lot of years. I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the teams. All teams have tried to play a decent brand of Rugby, and I have not come across a dirty team all year.

Surprised Goole have gone down, they should get promotion next year. (Good luck).

Big hand to all involved, looking forward to next season already.

I think that both teams will do ok. North ribb and if Bradford get promoted will get relegated.

Why would Bradford get promoted??

i wasn't trying to stir when i made my first response i just think that if you look at the teams who finished mid table in Y1 (below) it's a pretty strong group.  i think any side that comes into Y1 has to first look at establishing themselves as a Y1 club before getting too ahead of themselves.  Obviously feel free to throw what pock did this season at me but i honestly believe that won't be something that happens for a long time again a team doing back to back championships.  i think a more realistic thing is to look at where Hudd YM finished and aim for there or a position or 2 higher but no more.

5.   York
6.   Pontefract
7.   Scarborough
8.   Heath
9.   Ilkley

best of luck to both Barnsley & Wath though for what i have no doubt will be a tough but exciting season

Barnsley will compete in Y1; they have a big, mobile pack and strength in depth. Watch have the advantage of their home ground, as having to walk 5 minutes to the pitch and then having to remove dog referee, litter and other debris off the 'pitch' before you play, will shock most visitors and ruin any game prep! Can't help but feel sorry for teams like Scarborough with their facilities having to go there for a game...

Good luck though!

- Don't be so sure, in the last five years three sides have done it - Brods, Wheatley Hills and Pock. It was as hard for Pock to win Yorks 2 as Yorks 1 and we did it with basically the same side playing the same rugby.

YM set a goal of survival last season and stated that there needs to be slow progress in order to challenge for north east rugby. Pock have done well and have money and a good junior section. They have strength in depth. Both Wath and barnsley need to be realistic in their approach. The dangers are there unless you plan, ask Cas.

Planning already under way at Barns.
Our aim is to survive and improve in the first season
in Yorks 1. We are under no illusions -it will be tough!
Reasons for confidence? Well, yes! But let's wait and see.
