New Coaching Team & New Stand at Old Brods
real-ale:
Its all happening at Woodhead with the departure of long time coach Ian Armitage and his assistant Clive Harris. Ian has been a driving force in Brods push up the league but well documented player losses and loss of end of season form sees him move on with many thanks from all at the club. The new coaching duo of John Cole and Phill Gallagher will be well placed to bring on the latest crop of Colts players.
After a couple of years fund raising there is also some action on building the new stand at Woodhead. Expect the bulldozers to move in shortly! It has to be said some supporters are looking forward to a season of less travelling, though the hospitality in the North East was excellent. One supporter looking at the fixtures said " Its good to see us playing more Yorkshire clubs" Err yes its YORKSHIRE 1. Bring it on!

I hope you the acoustics of your new stand will be in keeping of the old one, playing at Brods wouldn't be the same without a lot of old people barracking the ref and opposition. I mean that in the nicest possible way. ;D

Are expectations high at Brods for a quick return to NE1 this season or a, say, a top four finish !!?
real-ale:
We are obviously not complacent and expect to be up against some big packs in Y1 but clearly as a club we have high expectations. If we can harness the enthusiasm of our successful colts side then I believe we will be there or thereabouts. On the positive side some more "local" derbies will be good for bar takings and generate more interest - playing against sides we have battled against historically as well as some new opponents to us. Last time I played against Wath we got changed in a coal-mine! I think the ref barrackers will be heard even more in a roomier stand with a bit more solid steel than the current construction!
