A few promising signs from the 1st training session last night at Phoenix, it looks likely that the pack will be bolstered for next season by an experianced national league hooker in addition to the new player coach Ryan Peacey. A couple of players returning from sabaticals also looks likely to strenghen the squad. It's early days though, who knows who'll be turning out come September!

Is the new hooker likely to take the place of Mr Atkinson as he's been a consistently strong performer for Phoenix over the seasons.  Or is it just to 'bolster the squad?'

No Mr Atkinson will definitely still be playing - after winning the 'Pete Atkinson Players Player of the Season' award for something like the 7th year running last season!

Most likely, the only other candidate would be Steve Boden who coached them last year and was released by the Knights but I'd reckon he'll have found rugby at a higher level that Y2!!
