League Rugby > Yorkshire 1

Who is the softest team in Y1

<< < (2/4) > >>

ref raff:
some of this is unfair. I've reffed all of Y1 in the past couple of years, and provided the conditions are favourable, pretty well all the sides have tried to run the ball and the league is often played at a high tempo. The worst side I saw last season were Castleford who had all sorts of problems, but even they tried to run the ball, scoring a couple of end to end tries in a match where they were well beaten. Bridlington have progressed from a club with big heavy forwards to a young side who arguably at times run the ball too much, but they certainly play with a positive approach and last year in my view were well coached by a good coach who encouraged them to enjoy the game and play rugby. BRB needs to be aware that some may confuse "hard/soft" with "clean/dirty". Y1 is a clean league by and large and the great majority try to play rugby in a good spirit. In terms of a "soft" side, then although they were one of the better teams, I felt the Driffield forwards were quite gentle although well-drilled.

He is not the fount of wisdom he purports to be, but a charlatan!

Take his posts in that vein and they are quite amusing

Takes all sorts ;)

Would be interested to put your comments into context. How many Brid matches did you see last year? Also, have you witnessed Brid trying to play 'rugby' over the last number if years, it hasn't been pretty!

I will look out for your extensive coaching manual in all good bookshops.  ;D

Only watched 1 last year, but one of the coaching staff watched 2.  Whilst I agree this is not a lot, we were only there to watch a player.

Hmm not sure we have met?

I have a valid opinion as others, I dont often get to see many yorkshire games but I think I have enough "nouse" to know what I am talking about.
