This is a great idea....as a referee myself it would be interesting to see what others have to say about games..
The best rugby games are the ones where you remember the skill of the players and not the performance of the referee.

Some spectators seem to think that we have nothing else to do other than being a rugby referee.  Most of us are over 50, work full time and only take up the whistle AFTER our playing careers have ended.  Both refs and players alike, have " bad days at the office"

The upside is that most of us have actually played the game and can empathise with the players. Unfortunately this often means that we are refereeing players younger than our own children, so often fitness can be a factor.

It would be interesting to see where spectators agree with decisions,  cards, penalty tries etc....

Even more interesting will be to see how many of you send a post on here, to say that have bought the ref a drink after the game, and thanked him for refereeing.   Referees, like many players, do it for the love of the game. We receive no match fee or payment. For the last 10 years we have received 40 pence per mile to cover our petrol costs...so we don't do it for the money !!
