A good game between 2 good teams... but the scoreline is more effected by the referee than the winning team.. shocking referee's decisions, that result in 'game changing' tries are hard to stomach... One try 1 minute before half time when we are up by 15 -11 and in possession, ref allows a man to get up off the floor behind the rook, run in from behind, pick up the ball and then trot over for a try...top bombing ref! and another try in the second half that he misses obvious hands in the rook, to gain possession, then in the same play, the tackled man loses ball in possession, ball travels forward 2 yards, the winger kicks it on and the ref gives the try...take 2 scores off this scoreline and it is an honest reflecion of the game.
However we move on and and just like they will be playing in NE1 next year, we will be happy in Yorks 1.
'Come on' next week...... ;D             ;D

Let's disown the Creche from this league. No doubt they will go up but only due to their importation of most of Tonga, a couple of Aussie's who both have Malton passports and their fantastic youth section that has now flourished, lol! Forget Malton it's the runner up who wins this league IMHO.

Wonder if BRB still stands by his claim, made on the old forum, that Malton will not go up?!?

to be honest ginge there was some good rugby played. scarb just couldn't finish which has been there problem all season and york didn't look dangerous at all exept in the last ten mins when scarb disaplin let them down yet another problem thats being ironed out. york not great at defending a strong rolling maul and have large gaps outside 13.

Capt Cas, it was a scorcher, you had to be there.
It had peeed down all night at 9am the pitch resembled a boating lake, by 11am (thanks to the new excellent drainage system)most of the surface water had gone but a good covering of soft grass provided by the six week blanket of snow meant that the first game in eight weeks could go ahead. The game was a full bloodied affair dominated by handling errors in the tricky conditions the sboro forwards slightly having the edge in the scrums. Boths sides threw everything they could into the game there was a few hand bags and sin bins for killing the ball at rucks. The game was played at a tremendous pace in the energy sapping conditions and scarboro led by 3 at half time.
In the second half the cold wind picked up making kicking even more of a lottery yet scarboro continued with their policy of kicking to the york full back at every opportunity. Scarborough lost the services of inside centre and the back line was reshuffled with the sub stand off coming on at scrum half. The turning point of the game came when with 10 mins to play York were awarded a penalty 30metres out slightly right of the posts, a draw looked a certainty, up stepped the york number 10 who completly miss-kicked it and the ball ended up nearer the corner flag that the posts. Not wanting to take the points easily scarborough then gave away another penalty this time closer to the sticks and to the left, the better side for the right footed york kicker. Up the cold and wet lad stepped again and again he missed it. Scarborough played out the dying seconds and took the points! Not the biggest crowd of the season but an absorbing game played with all the passion of a local derby.

Slightly better in the scrums, we stuffed them! Scarb had about 60/65% possession, played the better rugby and deserved the win no matter how small!

E.L.B if you stuffed them in the scrum and had 60/65% possession then you have a problem with only winning 3-0.
You could say a win is a win, but with having the 2nd lowest points ''for'' in the league then there is clearly something wrong after ''dominating'' a game.

No need to come back at us as we were clearly 2nd best on Saturday to a very well organised Sheffield.

you're not wrong sail by, every time we seem to get within 10-15 metres we seem to get this random urgency, and knowck it on or give a way a silly penalty, so we certainly need to score more points, as you say 2nd loweest for in the league, but i think you will find our points against are also pretty low, and if you keep a team to 0 you are always going to win.
