1000th Post Tribute.
« on: February 25, 2014, 12:16:54 AM »
I wanted to mark my 1000th post with a tribute to West Leeds....

We are a not the biggest, or the best. We don't have tonnes of money or juniors or teams.

But it's a huge part of my life, full of family and friends. It's always been such a joy playing here.

I'd like to invite you all to share any fond memories of West Leeds below.

Cheers

Sam

Being spat on by your coach after being hammered by Scabs a good few years ago!
Loving all rugby but especially at grassroots level.

Doing the double over you this season.

Well done on the landmark and also for your valiant efforts to keep the Y2 board active.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you are right.

I once played for Ilkley 2nds on a park pitch you used... I wrote the report saying how much we'd enjoyed playing at Toshgid Park... and the local paper printed it !

No way. I hope you floored him. Which coach? How long ago? That's a terrible thing to put on my tribute and not at all reflective of us. I don't know 1 person up there (or anywhere else for that matter) that would condone that.

Ask him nicely and he'll take it down (maybe)

And I thought you was alright.
You know that was mortifying for us. 1st time the guy had ever turned up. We all thought he was one of your guys.

Only winding you up ;)

I know we had the discussion at the time and we all agreed you couldn't blame the club for the actions of one individual, especially as he'd never been down before!

We actually found the whole incident pretty funny - a grown rugby playing man's dad running onto the pitch because his lad got involved in some handbags! Nobody got hurt, and the second row in question is a big boy who can look after himself!

Used to have Central Yorkshire training there when I was a teenager , used to get on well with a big lad who used to prop there with a funny nick-name but can't remember it now. It was back in the late 90's though.

Edit to add the name I forgot was Pike.
