Do people think that in general over the past years crowds in Y1 have gone up, down or stayed about the same.

I have a view but I'll keep my power dry for a little while.

Come on some of you guests. Register and give us your views...

Well if the posts are to be believed then the Selby crowds have increased as a result of the number of coaches and coach mentors they employ.....

Chuckle chuckle.

I believe that there is quite a difference east and west of the A1.
Let's face it there is not a lot to do this far out of Leeds, so no wonder Scabs get good crowds.

Yes but we always have. The point is whether crowds have increased or decreased regardless of the starting point.

Anyhow there's no point in including Scarborough as its not a safe or representative sample i.e. we have moved ground so the parameters have changed. Its other clubs I'm interested in.

Health of the game etc...

What crowds did Scabs used to get out of interest?

And why the huge increase? (possibly jumping the gun a bit! Even though new clubhouse and National League facilities will be the answer; which I agree with...  ;) )

I didn't say we did have a huge increase. I didn't want this to be about Scabs, I was genuinely interested how things were generally.

Are more or less people watching community rugby.

Selby have a healthy crowd, but is that really an indicator of the health of the game?
But I would say more!

I would rather see a number of teams playing and 500 kids on a Sunday morning.

It's 'a' indicator not 'the' indicator.

The hierarchy of health van be debated next week!

Does it not go hand in hand though, parents/grandparents watching a team are surely more likely to bring their youngsters to the club.

I wonder BRB if someone will actually answer your question? :o

And as an aside, the crowd at Scarborough games is influenced by whether BRB will be in attendance....I'll leave the rest to you...

Shirt_filler I agree with what you have said, however the way to do it is get the kids parents and grandparents from a Sunday to come and watch on a Saturday to increase the crowd. Integration of both junior and senior sections is very hard but well worth the effort.

Of the teams i refereed
Scarbs
Selby Ilkley last season
York
Wath

Both times i refereed at Selby  crowd size i was informed around several hundred plus [sponsers day and last home game of the season}
Ilkey roughly the same [ladies day function]
Wath  a couple of hundred + but bolstered by travelling contingent from Brods
York 400/500
I would think the Scarb v Ilk game last season would have seen a crowd  in four figures ?
