One party pleads guilty and is actually a player at the time.
The other is a replacement, so maybe was where he shouldn't have been. I would hazard a guess he may have pleaded not guilty as well.
All factors to be taken into account.
I was at said disciplinary panel. Our chap took full responsibility for his actions, he had been sent off 7 years previously, they still had the records.
Doesn,t seem very equitable does it, to be honest I thought the 4 chaps were a bit of a joke, they were nice enough, taking it in turns to be very straight faced and serious, the next moment laughing like kids in class, I thought it was more of a social for them.
The two refs present were pretty sound and new the crack and basically described the committee as not really being in touch with players or the modern game and I have to agree, they acted like a very stern headmaster, in between bouts of giggles...funny lot.
The difference in ban times does not surprise me as the panels appear to be nothing but inconsistent. I was sent off the last time for a full on fight with 2 blokes, head butted one and knee,d the other in the face, both left in not the best state of repair...I received no time and was free to play another time I was sent off against B&B got stamped on and punched by 2 of there blokes I never managed to land anything, they not sent off I got 6weeks....make out of that what u will (obviously a thug)..?
