No the refs have been told not to talk during play or get marked down. This again is the rfu getting it wrong. Like their development policy which focuses on kids 14 plus and keeping them playing instead of getting kids playing at an early age and tgen keeping them playing.

Utter lancashire. We want the game to flow and not blow the whistle. It's the players who make mistakes.

Good refs know when they made mistakes and learn

Well done WPLREF for discussing your reasoning on here. While watching the game I didn't agree with all your decisions but at least you have the balls to discuss them on here and offer your view point. The one thing about your reffing that really offended me though was your kit! Sponsorship or not it's ghastly!

I'm sure you'd be welcomed with both arms if you sponsored YRS and bought every referee a new decently coloured jersey.

I like the first one Red Horseman. No wonder we don't talk much in games nowadays.

Veteran I think you're confusing "not talking too much" with "not talking at all". Refs at this level and above are not going to talk constantly and tell you what they want at every ruck and what's expected of you at every breakdown. They're not coaches - you need to iron out what you can and can't do and how far you're going to push referees at training. If you do it on a Saturday at Y1, N1, etc, you'll just get penalised. They aren't here to coach you through every breakdown, negative play will get penalised and negative players will eventually get binned. That way positive players will get the rewards they deserve.
