Barnsley v Castleford- German mineral extraction they wanted. Mein Schafted they got. neither side have let pit closures get in the way of selecting mutant cave dwellers
Keighley v West Leeds- we've definitely a massive head after dispatching two Y1 teams. Looking for a arrogant rock up, go through motions and be given the points on a plate.
Knottingley v Old Rishworthians- OR have raised concerns over the knot LA pitch. Unlike the usual dreary comments about poop, OR are concerned with the dimensions. It's going to be nip and tuck if the OR pack can fit a full 8 on the field at once, due to Lanzarote's Playa del Carman all inclusive 2 week summer give away
Leodensians v Pontefract- lots of talk on the news about restructuring the House of Lords to be more representative. I assume this story is referring to Leo's mass recruitment drive.
Moortown v Roundhegians- a different kind of "weighting game" to OR knot La fixture. 'Town waiting for the RL season to finish and their immigrants to get through Calais. 'Hegians seem to be waiting/hoping someone will turn up.
Ripon v Sheffield Medicals- ripon again proving they are most connected club. You couldn't pick (unless your them) a better week to play the students
Wath-upon-Dearne v Old Grovians- working class big mean forwards and grammar school toff backs. Who said amateur rugby was dead. Wath are more than capable of making first week in September a "ruck-you-to-death Fest" in mud imported in from Bramhan park especially. Hoping to see some hip swing included in OR passing

Some difficult predictions this week!

Barnsley v Castleford - Barnsley need to win to be in the promotion race. They usually start very well too. Last year they were unbeaten and top of the table for 5/6 weeks

Keighley v West Leeds - I put Keighley as one of front runners for Promotion. But a lot of changes up there. Hoping we can go up put the performance in and the weather isnt too bad.

Knottingley v Old Rishworthians - Battle to the death. Wouldnt want to be a winger in this.

Leodensians v Pontefract - I think Ponte will win but Leos are into the unknown this year. New coach and I believe a fair few new players. May be a good time to play them when they are still gelling. Could be a dark horse this year?

Moortown v Roundhegians - Moortown are slow starters with the rugby league season still going and also flights from New Zealand not bringing in talent until October.

Ripon v Sheffield Medicals - Ripon at home and if they want to stay up this is a very important game. Shmeds wont have their full selection.

Wath-upon-Dearne v Old Grovians - what a fine fixture to welcome Grovians to Y2. both unknown territory this year.

Barnsley v Castleford- can't see anytime but a big home win. Barnsley usually start well and haven't heard anything on Castleford
Keighley v West Leeds - Keighley may have improved but still think WL are favourites for the league. Heard WL have an ex Falcons player on the books this year so interested to see how he works out
Knottingley v Old Rishworthians -Knotts at home is always a horrible fixture. too early in the season for OR
Leodensians v Pontefract- seem to have a decent 10 from the cup game report so will go well in Y2. No idea what Leos have this year so going big away win
Moortown v Roundhegians -  usually slow starters but still expect a home win to start the season. might make it into positive points before November this year!
Ripon v Sheffield Medicals - not sure if they'll be many students about but backing shmeds to pick up the win anyway.
Wath-upon-Dearne v Old Grovians - this will saw a lot about the teams. Wath strong enough to go back up or Old Grovs whole new team good enough for back to back promos

Is no-one listening the game has been switched to Castleford. Barnsley are double-booked with their football team so Cas have accommodated the switch.

Relieved, sliotar envisions a big home win. prove him right.

Just remember Moortown hold 'Hegians personally responsible for the massive deduction of points. Wonder if the away fans will be drinking on club house or if everyone's back on good terms.

We don't do books. We all know Falcons are rubbish. If he was any good he'd be still there.....or (insert generic Salem comment)

Barnsley v castle ford - they started well last year and of all the chat on the forum about teams strengthening and recruiting loads I have not heard this about castleford ... Although that may be down to the fact that they cba with all brbs nonsense

Keighley V wl - I am pretty sure if we had won our first game last year we would be a Y1 team so hopin we don't make the same mistake again

Knottingley is too far from Fiji for old rish this early in the season

Leo's ponte - this one will be close , apparently pontes 10 is a god amongst men so he might be the key here

Town v hegians- town are always up there at the end of the season but if there is anything true about their temporary imports being turned away they may struggle ... Not against hegians though

Ripon v shmeds - I hope shmeds return to their best again this year , ripon have gotten out of jail too many times really... Students still at mum and dads in early September or they will be konkers deep in a fresher

Wath v old grovians - rumours awash with grovians recruiting more than ISIS at the moment and over the summer , wath have always been quite strong so I can't really call it , going to say home advantage will count
Rugby may have many problems, but the gravest is undoubtedly that of the persistence of summer
