The ID card situation I beleive has caused some problems since it's full introduction this last season, but what problems have we all had ? Has it been smooth sailing or stormy seas ? What about teams from other CB's such as Lancashire and Cumbria where the ID Cards have not been introduced fully promoted? Opposing Teams still turning up with U13's playing for the U12's ?

What everyone's experiance and how have you dealt with it.

No problems at all! Identify a person within the vast amount of parents to co-ordinate it and roll it out. The only issues are when teams play kids out of there age groups without correct dispensation.

Whilst Yorkshire RU and the RFU make much of the player ID system there seems to be a total blind spot when it comes to other parts of the continumm. The laws for mini rugby clearly state there should be no competative matches before first week in October and an overall maximum of 17 matches or festivals in any one season. A quick look at fixture lists around the interweb reveals complete disregard for the laws of the game for many of Yorkshires finest clubs and complete silence from those in authority who choose to ignore this blatent breech of regulations. Whilst having a full team and reserves at every age group is an ideal situation which all clubs should aspire to do so the reality on the ground is often different that that perseeved by law makers gathered on leather chairs in oak pannelled rooms at twickenham. There was a time when if a person attended a rugby playing school they were not allowed to play for a rugby club junior/colts team, how times have changed.

No problems at Dinn, except the day when the cards were stuck in a rememberence day parade and the players ready to start a match!!! Luckily this only caused a slight delay in the kick off. A duplicate set is now laminated, strung togeteher and stored in the match day kit bag!

We did have a problem with a club that had permission - but only from parents to play up a level. Unfortunately its a no go. ortunately as we had plenty of players we were able to lend and the games got played.

Being in deepest darkest South Yorks we often travel into NLD. As we all used to do, we have to take their word for it.

Anyone found a particularly quick and accurate way to do the parade/check?

The simplest way to do the check is to get the team in front of you and call out the name of the player on the card, check him off and then ask him to stand at least 10 yards away from the group still waiting to be checked.

I must admit that overall we have not had any problems to speak of apart from going out of Yorkshire or when a Lancs/Cumbrian team visit. The ID cards are not being pushed in those area's by their CB's but what we do is ask for a Rugby 1st print off of the squads and this seems to do the trick.

I do know however that the YRFU/RFU are treating any breaches of Rule 15 very strongly at the moment, 1st team point deductions, suspensions etc.
