That is a season saving, mind blowingly good result for North Ribb at Heath. Not out of the woods but a massive help.

Yes well done Ribb !
Dirty win for under strength York today , can't comment too much as only saw the second half. Good to have a pint with Stella afterwards.

Was a guest at Selby today.

19 - 6 to Beverley at half time and effectively killed of as a contest by two Beverley tries in the first five minutes of the second half. Beverley were however far from perfect.

Selby do work hard as a team but too often they make basic mistakes ar critical moments, I think the one word that sums up Selby at the moment is naive.

I do hope Selby can do enough to avoid the drop this season if they do they will be a better side next season.

Top result for Ribb today.

Excellent win for us today, at last we are getting back to somewhere near full strength.
Interesting fixture home to Scarbs next week. Seems like a brave effort by Acklam.

And so the twilight zone is entered. The zone of playing for nothing but the love of rugby and pride. Scarborough and Keighley put in a gritty display in surprisingly good conditions on a warm and sunny afternoon.

Although a bonus point win was welcome it wasn't the most satisfying of performances with a continuous flow of errors from both sides but especially Scarborough.

What is so hugely frustrating is that Scarborough in parts of the match (although relatively small parts) really lifted their game and blew Keighley away with their pace and power. The crowd would think "here we go" but then after a try its as if someone hits a button and the legs, brain, heart and lungs all disengage for 20 mins. This is without a doubt one of the most talented Scarborough sides for years, if only the game lasted for just 15 minutes we'd be promoted by now.

A very polished performance from the ref who I don't actually remember making one mistake on the day.

The match was played in excellent spirit and both Scarborough and Keighley under 12's (I believe) provided a guard of honour for the teams to run out to, following them playing a little match together beforehand.

Unfortunately I missed hosting the Keighley officials as we had so many guests today for lunch we had to split duties.

Good day, good result, good ref, craap match...

Refereed West Leeds v Yarnbury today. Finished 54-3.

Well contested despite what the score line suggests.

Thanks to Sam (WLXIII) and Jamie and their teams for the day out. Thanks also to Andy for giving up his afternoon to watch me.

Nice to catch up wit folk from Yarnbury (GW, BH etc) who I haven't seen for a few years.

As always well looked after at WL - always a good chat with PC,  Andyn (of this parish) and the rest of the WL guys.

Good luck to both teams for the rest of the season.
Now I guess I'll have to tell 'em

As always well looked after at WL

Lucky you. That's not the case for many Y1 teams this year. WL are big on claiming to be a "proper" rugby club (whatever that is) whilst it seems to me that the values of rugby union were lost a long time ago there.

(Here comes the inevitable "we were really well looked after there" blah blah. Well boo hoo for you. I have now had quite a few other Y1 teams express disappointment at being ignored there)
