Big score at Scarborough today with game virtually won after 30 minutes.  The ref today was 19 years old! Had the pleasure of watching the game with his dad. Family are from near Edinburgh but young lad is studying at Sheffield Uni. He has moved from level 14 to level 7 within 1 season and is reffing games in various regions to gain experience. I thought he was top notch today, was fair, got all decisions right ( imo) & more importantly, as you'd expect was right up with play all game..  Great to see, well done young man....... and good luck out in town tonight!!!

Bizarre end to the game @ Selby. Selby 14 -10 up in the last minutes with Rib camped on the Selby line. After a couple of five meter scrums which Selby defended, Selby had a scrum of their own having won the ball they kicked it dead, presumably because they thought time was up. The ref awarded another five meter scrum from which Ribb scored their winning try. The conversion was missed and the ref blew for time.

That was how I saw it.

Completely agree about the ref.. very good.

Lovely weather for rugby and a good win against Brods (missing a few I was told - but still good finishing by Scarborough)

I wasn't there but that seems very careless by Selby, surely they should have checked with the ref what the situation
was. Hope our friends the Swans can beat the drop.

On winning the aforementioned scrum. Selby asked ref how long was left and were told 9 seconds, at which point the ball was kicked dead. The ref then quite correctly ( Imo) ordered a 5metre scrum from which Ribb scored a potentially season saving try in the opposite corner. A lot of vitriol towards the ref from a couple of myopic Selby people who did their club no favours at all. The worst abuse I have heard there in running touch for 24 years. A shame as Selby despite their league position are obviously a thriving club and being able to field 5 sides regularly are the envy of many countrywide. Hope they can avoid the drop as we were (as always) very well looked after by Sally et al.

Just to add that the referee's decision was correct and was not questioned by players or coaching staff. It was an unfortunate mistake.

On the day Sent should have finished the game off but didn't and let Ribb back into the game.

What an atmosphere in the clubhouse after!! Even after a loss. Ribb is a fantastic club.

Re time remaining, that happened to Wales a few years ago. Would suggest question is not "how long is left" but "is this the last play?"
