Help For Hull
« on: April 06, 2018, 01:37:14 PM »
With the only thing seemingly standing in the way of a brand spanking new club for the City of Hull being a name, I think the forum could help unlock the impasse with some useful suggestions.

What should the new merged club be called?

Hullsy  McHullface RUFC?

I Own It All RUFC?

RH seem to think both clubs have a bit of the old Hull & East Riding in them. The majority of riding joined Ionians and a minority set up a new riding which merged with Hymerians to become Hull. So the sensible answer is Hull And East Riding.

But they could become Hull Tigers the name Hull City wanted to adopt and get lots football money.

Or perhaps a modern name like

Hull Pirates
Hull Lakers or
My own favourite
Hull Synergy.

I have just read in Old Moore's Almanac, corroborated by Billy's Weekly Liar, that the Yorkshire Rugby Forum is to merge with Rolling Maul with the intention of forming a new, as yet un-named, website dedicated to rugby union fooball.
Is this true and would anyone have thoughts on what it should be called?

I have it on very good authority that "Rolling Maul) are in financial difficulties and have approached the board of Y1 Forum (chaired by BRB) about a merger. As Y1 is nationally recognised as the most popular board of its kind, I don't believe the board think it good business to merge with people who, financially, couldn't run a hot bath. If they were able to bring some finance with them other than merely a decent website then things may move forward. Until then talks have irrevocably broken down. The next move is up to "Rolling Maul". Until then we shall continue, and be well managed as has been the case for many years now and carry on attracting more posters.

Its not a merger its a takeover and after we have bought RM it will be closed down and world domination will be complete!

We (very) few, we happy few, at DN rugby would happily be taken over if the £££ is right!
