Currently 2 divs of 6 with 2 promoted would mean a uneven division of 13 sides

There is 1 thing I would change, In the shield comp, the team that finished 1st (Bramley this season) should be given home advantage in the knockout stages. Not sure how Thirsk ended up with home advantage in the final but just seems a silly decision.

Perhaps the current system is to encourage the lower teams to fulfill the fixtures.

Scarborough went up as Durham city didnt want to play them in the Play offs so only 1 team from Yorks 1 Relegated  hence it will pass down to Bottom league   so only 1 down from 3

Where did you get that info from?
And how does that scenario fit in with DN1 now having a team too many?

Don't think its as simple as that, level transfers may come into play so 2 teams still may come down from York 3. I wouldnt expect a difinitive answer until august

This is info from a post on a forum on here at higher levels

I was in the North West over the weekend and spoke to someone close to RFU North.

I understand the competitions committee meet tomorrow to discuss amongst other things level transfers.

There is considerable opposition to level transfers and how they are working  from Cheshire, Cumbria, Durham and Manchester. Clubs in those four areas want more local fixtures and less travelling.

I’m told that one option on the table is for only one level transfer from D&N1 and that will be Middlesbrough if they opt to stay for a second season. If Middlesbrough go back then one other team.

That would leave Yorkshire 1 a team short and that would require Yorkshire leagues to be adjusted so  the second bottom team stays up. That would mean North Ribb staying up. It would also effect the second bottom team in the other Yorkshire leagues.

That would leave D&N1 with 15 teams and would have to be solved by relegating three sides as has happened before.

Or RFU North can try to impose the league regulations and accept the consequences, there is already the threat of clubs in The North West quitting the league structure.

Yes, but that's not the committee.
They got told off last year over their procedures when 3rd from bottom - Blyth got relegated.
The current regs don't allow for it except for in very special circumstances. That would take one ballsy decision from the committee to justify relegating a team who have done nothing wrong.

Just to clarify - Trees players voted for the committee to try to apply to join the leagues.  Obviously there is a process and the existing structure as well as planning already going on for next season.  We have informed the league secretary of our intentions and will wait for the response or formal application process to begin

There will be something seriously wrong if Trees apply and wasn't allowed. Would be good to see a few other teams following suit.

That should be good news and should create a more structured league
